"Just a number of different things," Gibson said about why Tennessee currently ranks at the top of his recruitment. "Coach Butch Jones and I chit chat a little bit and I like him. He had a great year in recruiting last year in a down year (on the field) in just his first year. The players I fit in well with them and the campus is amazing. The people are so cool and they treat me like a regular person."
"If I'm not mistaken the last time they had a dual threat quarterback they won the national championship," Gibson said. "I can do a lot of different things and I feel like that's what they are looking for in a quarterback."
"Coach Jones is a cool coach," Gibson said. "I can talk about anything and he knows I'm the truth. I don't tell anything but the truth. He's a cool guy on both the field and off. He really knows how to keep it real with me."
"The list can change," Gibson said. "The top spot can change and in fact any spot can change. It's a fluid situation, but it's how I feel right now. I plan on narrowing it more after spring or sometime this summer." "I plan on seeing all of the top schools again," Gibson said. "I want to be more comfortable with each school. I want to sit down with the coaches and bring my family up and see if they like it."
I think it is about time that TN went with a dual threat QB. I'll take Gibson any day. I often wondered why UT always goes with a Pro style QB.....
UT has had much more success with dual threat qbs than traditional pocket passers with the exception of Manning of course. Even back to the 1940s and 1950s when half backs both ran and passed. From Lauracella, to Warren, to Holloway, to Robinson, to Cockrill, to Shuler, to Tee Martin. Leaving out others but those are notables.
Seems to me like Butch Jones is recruiting Torrance Gibson a little harder than Gentry. I'd bet the house that he prefers Gibson over Gentry.
But he would still be happy with both.
That's why whoever commits first we will go with.
If Gibson is Smart, he'll cool off on the attention and make a decison before the season starts.
Of course because Clausen had concrete feet. UT has had tons of pro style pocket passers. But I'd say much more over all success with the athletic dual threat option calling the signals.
I think it is the opposite. Gentry is just very low-key about his recruitment. He doesn't talk to media or use twitter.
I am pretty sure Gentry is the #1 target.
I don't think so. A player of Gibson's level and talent wouldn't entertain a school that isn't making him a priority. But who knows we are all on the outside and we can only evaluate with the info we have and the info we have points to Gibson.

Torrance to CBJ: "Coach, I'm your #1 guy right"?
CBJ: "Of course you are son"!
Torrance: "Just asking because I saw where people are saying the Gentry kid from NM was your #1".
CBJ: "You can't believe everything you read online".
Torrance: "What about the Jennings kid who is a QB"?
CBJ: "He will be a safety for us".
Torrance: "That makes me feel better coach, thanks".
(CBJ calls Zach Gentry 20 minutes later)
CBJ: "Zach, how is my #1 QB for 2015 doing this fine day"?
And it all plays out again much the same way.
