Taking all of the above into consideration, I think Gibson's the top target at QB.

If Jennings were not already onboard, I would agree. IF the staff really wanted to show say Gentry he was their "other" guy and went all in to get him and missed, it would not be as big a deal. Having 1 QB already committed gives the staff more room to take a risk IF they wanted to do so.

Very True, if nothing else it's nice to see our name making national headlines again for big time recruits.

IMO, no chance. Especially with us sitting well with several 2016 QBs. Take 3 QBs in 2015 and watch that 2016 interest drop off. Heck, taking 2 in 2015 might have the 2016 QBs rethinking Tennessee. As we saw after taking Dobbs/Ferguson in the same class, the next one was a tough sell for the staff.

I don't know if it's Gibson or Gentry that's #1 on our board, but I do know that I'm glad we have Jennings on board and are in the situation we're in now. It show recruits and the country that we're moving forward, the way we are suppose to be.

Dooley just stumbled along blindly and bumbled his way into a couple of good pick-ups, while completely ignoring the home state.

I disagree man. CBJ really wants this guy as his QB. You just can't teach this level of athleticism and he knows that.


Like I said before we can only go off reports and from all reports Gibson is number one on the board. Gentry in number one on your board though.

Coach Jake has visited Gentry out in NM three times and once with Butch. That's a long way if the prospect isn't at the top of the board. I follow this stuff pretty closely and I don't think Coach Jake has visited any other QB that many times, I'm not even sure if Butch has gone down to FL to visit Gibson. He might have but I can't remember, anyone know?

Gentry said he and Bajakian stay in regular contact and they've already started to build a good relationship.

"I've been talking to him pretty consistently. I call him about once a week so I've been getting to know him pretty well," Gentry said.

Then, on Monday, Bajakian returned to New Mexico but this time brought with him Tennessee head coach Butch Jones.

"I think it is a big deal because he's still trying to clean up and get all of the 2014 guys recruited and worrying about that class and coach Jake has already come to see me three times and that means a lot to me, too," Gentry explained. "That means a lot because they are investing a lot of time and energy in me."

We're probably in pretty great shape if we get either one of these guys. And I also like Jennings a lot as a QB. So good problem to have.

That being said, Gibson excites me a lot more as a prospect and I'm hoping he's the guy we end up with.

Honestly, even though Gentry may be my favorite qb target, I'm having trouble getting really excited about any of those 3. All have low completion percentages, below 60% (Jennings below 50% I believe) and Gibson was rated a 4 out of 10 on 247 for his accuracy. Not to mention he struggled at that one camp and moved from qb to receiver at said camp. Tremendous athlete, throws a good ball, and has the release of a qb, not an athlete playing qb. Just has to be able to put it on the money more consistently.

As for Gentry, about 56% completion percentage playing against New Mexico competition is pretty underwhelming. I know there are other factors, like him throwing downfield a lot and getting terrible blocking, but still. I'd really like to see a big improvement this year for him. Especially if he chooses to be a Vol.
