Yes please inject race into the conversation, that's original.

I'm merely pointing out the elephant in the room.

Also, what does being a pocket-passer have to do with being a "model citizen?" There are plenty of pocket QBs with off-field issues (Ryan Leaf, Eric Ainge, etc) and there are mobile QBs with stellar off-field resumes like Steve Young or Donovan McNabb, so Gibson's play style has nothing to do with his behavior. Let's stop tiptoeing around the issue, which is some fans apparently don't want an "arrogant" black kid at QB.

I'm going to go ahead and say it: nobody would be throwing around terms like "thug" and questioning Gibson's intelligence or obedience to the law if he were a white kid. He comes across as a very humble and thoughtful guy in his interviews, so inferring anything else from the fact that he has fun with fans on Twitter is coming more from stereotypes rooted in racial prejudice than from anything based on reality. JMO.

My quote had nothing to do with Gibson. It had everything to do with Newton, Manziel, and Winston. Last I checked, there was a white dude in that group.

Granted there is a bushel of idiots here just like in any sampling of humans but I don't think being arrogant & black makes him less attractive to anybody with a lick of sense.

I don't think anybody was tiptoeing around what someone(this time you) has to drag out like a pair of blown out flip flops, the race card.

I agree with your examples by the way. Case in point give me Bridgewater over Manziel here next week.

Let's not kid ourselves Gibson comes to UT volnation will go full retard with excitement. Personally would rather have Gentry at qb and take tg as an ath.

I could care less about his skin color. He's not that good and has a huge ego. Others are better.

Here were Torrance Gibson's stats in the Florida 5A state championship game, which he won as a junior:

- 9 for 10 passing, 161 yds and 2 TDs
- 14 rushes for 168 yards, including a 78-yard TD

He's ranked as the # 1 QB/Athlete and 8th overall player in the country by ESPN, but then again you're the football expert and you think others are better.

I don't care about ratings. My evaluation is right. An athlete playing qb won't fly in our O.

I think he was insinuating that while those were great players, they were also criminals who brought NCAA investigators to town. I think he prefers good players who don't belong in jail over those who do.

Stanford, you never disappoint.

So don't recruit any athlete with an ego because they are likely to commit a crime?

I see the usual Black qb biases have all been brought out.

Athlete playing qb? Check
Thug? Check
Not smart? Check
Can't throw? Check
Needs to play wr? Check.
Ego too big? Check
