I think UT would be 4th or 5th at best on TG's list. Could he fall to UT if other QBs choose the schools he likes better? I guess it could happen. Do Queen & Gibson choose au? Does Gibson choose osu if Nunez commits there? Then there is Jennings that is also considering some of the same schools. A lot to still play out with QB recruiting.

You are one negative mother f'r.

His Twitter account is absolutely blowing up w VOL love tonight. WAY more than after his othet visits. Y'all check it.

Don't take anything from that. A lot of it has to do with us having one of the biggest fan bases in all of college football & a large portion on social media as well.

Not saying he's doing this, but a ton of kids just like the attention & all of the followers they get from it.

The best part of his interview on Volquest was the fact that he said, that UT might have another top class once the top recruits commit, "like myself".

"The visit went great,” said Gibson, who’s ranked the nation’s No. 13 overall prospect and No. 1 dual-threat quarterback in the 247Sports Composite for the 2015 class.
“Tennessee was high (on my list) already, and now they’re even higher.”
The 6-foot-4, 205-pound Gibson — who also visited Oklahoma, LSU, Auburn, Clemson this week before traveling to Tennessee — said “everything stood out” during his first look at the Vols.
“I thought (the campus) wasn’t even that big,” he said. “I thought it was, like, a small campus, so that stood out to me. And (I liked) just everything — the coaching staff, the football team, the locker room, the weight room. ... There’s not one part I didn’t like about Tennessee.”
Gibson said Tennessee coach Butch Jones, offensive coordinator Mike Bajakian and wide receivers coach Zach Azzanni all made it clear to him that he’s a high priority for the Vols.
“(Jones) was just telling me how I’d fit in the offense and just telling me, ‘If you need time, just take your time. We’re not rushing you or anything like that.’ They’re just waiting on me,” Gibson said. “He told me I (could be) a key part of their offense and a key part of their ‘Dream Team.’
“Coach ‘Jake’ said I would fit in the offense great. ... They want to make me throw the ball a lot, and I can respect that, because I don’t like running the ball every down. But sometimes they’re going to need me to run the ball, which is a great idea.”
Upon arriving in Knoxville on Wednesday night, Gibson discovered that his name had been painted on “The Rock” located in the middle of Tennessee’s campus.
“Man, that’s crazy,” he said. “That shows that Tennessee really wants me, and they have an awesome fan base and awesome football team. They didn’t have a great season last year, but those Volunteers, they’re rowdy about their football team, and that’s the type of fan base I like — win, lose or draw, a fan base that’s going to be there.”
Gibson said he said he’s planning to finish his road trip with a stop at Florida on Friday. So far, he said, his trips to LSU, Auburn, Clemson and Tennessee have “really stood out,” and he’s hoping to return to Tennessee and LSU for their upcoming spring games.
“Tennessee really made a big impact,” he said. “I believe in Coach Jones’ dream, because he had the number-three recruiting class in 2014, and I believe in his vision and his dream. Tennessee didn’t win many games last year. This year, they’re making a big move now, and I can’t wait to watch them play — and other schools, as well.”
While Gibson recently has gone back and forth on when he will make his college choice, he said he’s currently planning to wait several more months before deciding where he wants to play.
“After my senior football season and (after) I take my five (official visits),” he said, “then I’ll make my decision.”

UT will not wait until after his senior season to take a commitment from him as a QB? He better rethink his timing or he better find another team.

I'm not sure this is the case, but I'm very sure that UT will take 2 QBs this class if he waits that long to commit. We can't risk missing out on him and having no other QB in the class.

If they get a QB high enough on their board who calls, ready to commit, TG will get a "now or never" call, with the other side on call waiting. If they are striking out on QB's, it strengthens their pitch of waiting on TG.

It's that simple.

They will definitely wait
They will not wait that long to take a QB commitment, just not going to happen. They would however take a commitment from Gibson at any point. If he wants to be the center of a team's recruiting class, he will have to rethink his timetable.

They will likely wait for him, but i think will take a committment from at least one other QB if he waits until the end of the summer. Gentry may be that other QB this month. If that happens, we will see if Gibson is afraid of competition.

Could a QB prefer to be the only QB taken in his class and NOT be afraid of competition? You do realize at just about any school there are other QBs already there and competing for the QB job right? What if TG did want to commit to UT, but wanted to be the only QB taken this year? Would he still not have to compete with Ferguson, Dobbs, and Peterman? A football team is not built on just one class. Competition is always a part of it, even if a recruit has a little say so in how it plays out.

Also if they miss on Gentry and Jennings decides to be a Vol, IMO the coaches could roll the dice on waiting out a kid closer to NSD as technically they would have a QB already on board.

IMO there is a very good chance if they try and take 2 QBs this year(even if one is a project type), then getting an Austin Kendall or other top QB in 2016 will be very tough(see 2014 class). I'd much rather see them spread them out at 1 per year and not double up 1 year and then not get 1 the next.

He is definitely a special player. I just don't think that we have the luxury to take a "project" type player at QB with only 22 schollies available this year. We were so deficient on talent that the coaching staff HAD to take 30 something odd players last year. If we have more attrition than expected, we may be able to take more. It is what it is. We can't take everyone that we want. However if he decides to be a VFL, I will welcome him with open arms.

This is tough. I obviously like TG a lot but I like Gentry and Nunes too. I'd hate to miss out on them and then get stiffed by TG in the end.

With not taking a QB last cycle, I'll take the first ones to commit, even if it means losing out on TG in the end. Having said that, this staff will still recruit TG even if we have one or two already committed.

A bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush.
