I'm not a big fan of QBs that commit really late in the game...to me it points to a possible character flaw and a potential lack of leadership ability. I guess that I look back at Terrell Pryor as an example, but I'm sure that there are a lot more examples and data to support that theory. JMHO

Sounds like Ohio State is dropping down his list after visiting schools that play big boy football.

According to Darrow? He clueless bro. Luke and Tom Loy are the most connected guys on Sofla kids. If he doesn't make that trip to Columbus they should begin to worry.

According to the quote from Fort on the last page. Not saying that he is for sure gonna come back in 2 weeks, just what he told Fort today.

@quick_tg6: S/O to the #1 running back in the country @Damien_D1Harris he is showing high interest in Tennessee #VolNation 🔶🔸

Seems like a bad idea for a top level QB to wait so late to commit. Many of the really good teams (i.e. the teams he wants to play for) will already have their QBs. If any of UTs 1st tier guys want to commit, they won't wait for Gibson. All IMO, of course.

Puzzling strategy.

Just throwing this out there...with Butch's preference to shut it down after committing...could it be he gave Butch a silent commit, he expressed his desire to take OV's, and Butch suggested to wait going public until all OV's are taken?

I'll give you a couple that did that to us and they were just head cases. Manning committed in January before the signing date and Shuler didn't commit until about 4-5 days before signing date.

Lol, just a thought for the sunshine pumpers and smoke screeners.

I think UT would be 4th or 5th at best on TG's list. Could he fall to UT if other QBs choose the schools he likes better? I guess it could happen. Do Queen & Gibson choose au? Does Gibson choose osu if Nunez commits there? Then there is Jennings that is also considering some of the same schools. A lot to still play out with QB recruiting.

I think we're much higher than that, but I don't think we get him. Never have, really. Nunez and Jennings, IMO.

His Twitter account is absolutely blowing up w VOL love tonight. WAY more than after his othet visits. Y'all check it.

"First, they have great academics. That's the first and most important thing," Gibson said. "Then, they have a great football team and a great coaching staff and I feel like coach Butch (Jones) is getting the team in the right direction and I believe in his plan."

"I talked to all the coaches and a lot of players believed in his vision and his plan and that's why he had so many top recruits in the nation in 2014 and he might have another top recruiting class in 2015 when a lot of players commit, like myself, but I still have to take these official visits," Gibson explained. "Just the vision that coach Butch has for this program. The program started from the bottom and now they are going to rise to the top and I can see that in his vision. Also, just the campus and the fans are crazy. They're excited about their program and they are seeking a national championship, too, and I can feel it.

"They told me they didn't take a quarterback in the last class and I was surprised because every college takes a quarterback and they said they were waiting on me," Gibson said. "A lot of coaches don't say that, they always take quarterbacks and so I was surprised they didn't. That's a big opportunity for me and for me to work my way to a starting position."

"First, I want to finish out my senior season so I can win another state championship and then I'm going to take my official visits, either after the season or during," Gibson explained. "Then, I'm going to narrow it down and then just tell everyone I'm going to commit and it will be after my senior year."

The fact that he's returning in two weeks after that visit is incredibly encouraging. I can't remember a highly sought after prospect from South Florida ever doing that before.

Not to be a nega-vol, but we'll see if he makes it in. If he does I think we've got a great shot. Hopefully he is not just momentarily high on us after his visit.
