He can sign up to 25 per SEC rules (more allowed with back counting and EE's). Scholarships are yearly so Butch can sign a full class and then not give scholarships to those who have not earned it, even if they were on one last year.

It all depends on how "business" like Butch is going to get. My opinion is he is going to get us winning, and will do it with the best players. They will have to earn their scholarship every year and he will therefore sign a full class or close to it every year.

A lot has changed in the 40 or 50 years since you claim you were recruited. If you don't think so I don't know what to tell you. Nothing is the same as back then when it comes to college football. CFB is always evolving and changing.

I suppose it would depend on what "not earned it" means for me. Going to class, being a team player, doing things the right way, IMO it should be the kids decision to be a Vol once he is signed. Of course if he has "issues", I have no problem with it being taken out of their hands. Fights, drugs, arrests, grade issues, most know I am usually one on the send em packing sideline.

Coaches and their promises haven't changed all too much. Even the pitches rarely change.

With the having back counted 7 last year and taking a full 25 on NSD, there are no back counting this year correct? GFW did say they wanted to bring in 11 EEs ideally and with 12 SRs, I can see that working out just fine.

That's changed, but the promises coaches make really haven't. Fan access has changed a lot, and the players have bigger egos these days.

It will be harder to back count this year. I don't see many underclassmen going to the NFL and I am not sure if anyone is graduating early.

If I am Butch I want as many EE's as possible in order to get up to speed faster though.

We're all really enjoying your "good insight." We're trying hard to "handle" it all, but it's sometimes difficult because it's just so dang good. You keep doing what you do, Tux, and we'll keep absorbing the knowledge as best we can.

EE's won't be a problem. We should be able to bring in 10+ thanks to the mid-year replacement rule. I think all but 1 of the seniors are scheduled to graduate in December. That doesn't really have much to do with back-counting, though.

If Weatherd doesn't make it in, our number for 2015 increases by 1 to 25 since he wouldn't count as an initial counter and Swafford doesn't count as an SEC signee.
