Do you agree that Creamer is a good example of someone adamant about getting his shot at a position? How long did it take him to get moved? I'm making ZERO statements about JJ or TG or anyone else, I'm just saying that I think Butch will give them legitimate shots, but the competition might not take very long to see a clear winner. Maybe the loser of that competition is TG; then you get a speed freak/play maker on the field with JJ or QD. If JJ loses, then same thing; a potential NFL safety?

My argument is not that they will see playing time, or even that they should or should not be moved to different positions. My argument is that there is evidence that Butch will gladly take top athletes and use them to win...

Creamer is tough IMO. He is a legacy and was headed to UT IMO at TE, WR, DE, QB, or whatever. Yes, I do recall him saying he was a WR and was being recruited as a WR during his recruitment. I do not recall him saying it's WR or nothing and he would not sign with a school recruiting him somewhere other than WR.

I do fully understand why people say JJ could move to S and be an NFL talent. A lot of "experts" say it is possible. Of course these kids themselves can be a little tougher to buy into it if it's something they don't want. JJ could decide tomorrow at playing defense is fine with him. I don't see him working as a S in camps. I don't see him running routes in camps. I have not read where his HS coach wants to move him to defense full time. I see him playing QB in camps and looks to be a full time QB at Blackman this year. I just don't think the "move" will be as quick as some others think it will IF it comes at all. Of course I do get that a lot of people saying he will move quickly is to aid in their mindset of taking the 3rd QB and Gibson being a Vol. As I have said for a while, I just do not see where as of today at least, Gibson is any better QB prospect than Jennings is.

Is any part of this fact?

It is really very simple. We planned to take 2 QB's no matter what. Riley left which meant we were one down so now we need 3. JJ is committed with a promise to get a try at QB but is basically an ATH. QD commits and is a QB. Since Riley left we now have room for Gibson as well. We can say we are taking him as an ATH and that will not scare QD away since technically he is the only true QB recruit. JJ and TG will get their try at QB and one or both will possibly move to other positions. That will leave us with 1 QB for this class and maybe one more which is what was planned to begin with. Since one will likely move to another position we still have room for at least one QB in 2016. I do not buy in that it will take 2 years or so for both to seek out another position. How long did it take Charlie High to see he had little chance of starting at Tennessee and transfer? True he was a walk-on , but he was promised a shot like the rest. Once all 3 are there the cream will rise to the top and the coaches will heavily encourage whoever is on the bottom to transfer or seek another position. This is not rocket science and it would be crazy to not take TG or give him a shot at QB. Fergy leaving is what makes this whole scenario all to real. Whether you like it or not taking 3 at this point is no different then what we initially planned since Riley left. May the gnashing of teeth begin.

The only guarantee that I see is that even if Dormady sticks with us someone on this site will still be misspelling his last name at the end of his senior year.

IMO Gibson is a take for any team in the country regardless of the position he wants to play. This repetitive back and forth is so annoying. I would ignore some people but haven't yet for I fear they MIGHT post something informative.

I was not sold on they were taking 2 no matter what in the 1st place. JMO

The back and forth is kind of what makes a message board, a message board. JMO

Well Jones said after last years class that he ideally likes to take two QB's each year so that is why all most everyone expects it. He has said that more than once since he has been here.

I believe this fear is unfounded.

Leb, I think our conversation has been quite respectful. I know not everyone likes calm reason, but it is a nice change.

I'm always down for a good discussion. I myself try to avoid the name calling and such. Even if I don't like someone's opinion, It's their opinion and they can discuss it. No reason for anything to get nasty.

I agree with that. No need for name calling. And if we all agreed with each other the site would not be as big or as interesting.

Name calling is the only reason I check this thread... I like to see who hates who each day and how it changes as the wind or tweets go :)
