That will be risky because neither are considered just a pure QB. They both could end up winning a heisman or like Schaeffer or Banks and ending up at WR. With only having 2to scholly QB's after this yr that is asking for trouble. Plus no way they can sit around and wait till closer to signing day to see what Gibson does. If Dormady, Darnold or whoever wants to committ I'm sure they would tske it then if if Gibson chooses us then let them battle it out when they get on campus. Think it would be different if Gibson
committed this wknd but still is a risk not gettinga pure QB and 2 athletes

Will be interesting to see what the staff does. With all the offers going out to 2016 QBs, I think they plan to take 1 next class. If they do, they can't sign 3 this year. Schools could negative recruit the hell out of a move like that. I do think the staff will not wait till NSD on TG. IMO we may very well see QB #2 before July 1st. Just a matter of who steps into the spot.

Don't get me wrong I'm a big Gibson fan but if dormady is ready to be a vol and I believe he is then we can't wait on Gibson if it will risk losing dormady.

I agree. I think Gibson in particular could be the elite QB us Vol fans have been waiting for. I think with Jennings if he doesn't work out at QB he could play numerous other positions so signing a pure QB wouldn't be a huge risk. By time these guys come in we will have 2 JR scholly QB's and then whoever comes in this class. With us starting our 4th string QB the last half of the yr and even he was hobbling around. Curious to see how it plays out if Dormady or Darnold want to committ this soon. Just a huge risk waiting on Gibson to decide before taking a QB committ. Run the risk of getting nobody.

Well your original point is probably wrong. Butch may not wait until NSD for TG but it's ludicrous to think he's gonna move on if he doesn't get a commitment this weekend.

And your post looked like something a 6 year old would type.

Combine the above together and that's why you get the triple facepalm.

I thought Dormady would be a Vol until Bama swooped in with the offer. He's jumped Waller as their #1 QB and there's a reason the Crystal Balls are flooding towards Bama. JMO

I would take Dormady right now if he wanted to but I don't think that's very likely now.

What QB do we have a better shot with than Gibson? I'd like to hear this...

I think the issue is ALL the QBs will be committed before TG is IF his recruitment plays out as he wants it to.

I'd say we are in on a few of our qbs top 3 and butch will close out on one soon....I personally believe dormady is the guy if not Gibson.....but it is a little strange we are not recruiting more qbs.

I believe you're right. Just no way they can risk waiting that long on Gibson. Then if Gibson wants to committ later then you see where the numbers are and go from there.

I really thought Dormady would be the guy until Bama jumped in. He went out of his way to go throw for them and he earned his offer. Now he's their #1 QB. Not trying to beat a dead horse but I'll be surprised if he doesn't commit to Bama very soon.

And to the part you bolded, I agree. And that's why I think CBJ feels really good about his chances with Gibson. JMO

AU/OSU/OR/ND/FSU/UF/bama, and UT are all in on some of the same kids. One goes here, one goes there and who knows how it will all turn out. I think UT is very much in play with 3-4 QBs or more and there is always the chance the coaches like one the fans may not realize. I have little doubt the coaches like TG a lot. I also have little doubt that if a QB wants to commit now VS waiting till NSD the coaches will take them.

True but they are just opinions. Dormady could decide after this trip that he wants to be a Vol. And hopefully after a few days with Kiffin that he says F the bammers.

Butch must like his chances with one of them qbs were going after or its bad recruiting on his part. Butch is to smart for the later IMO .

Very well could be true, I'd just like to see what they actually had to say about him. Where is it that bama now has Dormady as their #1?
