I told y'all earlier that Deondre Francois was going to FSU. I believed that. When Kai Locksley committed to FSU just moments before Francois was set to announce, obviously things started to get out of control. I wrote a quick commitment story JUST IN CASE and set the date for next year so it wouldn't go live. It's a standard procedure. We do this all the time.
That clearly didn't happen. I take full responsibility for letting the story go live. I didn't even think twice to look at the front page because I knew I had changed the year for it go live. I had no idea it was up there until I got a million tweets asking what happened.
Trust me, I couldn't apologize anymore even if I tried.
UPDATE: And regarding my tweet: When I wrote the story I had a tweet ready to go. That's my fault, too. Obviously not a reflection on anyone else except on me. There were multiple credible outlets who had him going to Auburn, and that's why the story/tweet was written. I can't go back and fix it -- or I absolutely would.
