'15 Fl QB Deondre Francois

No particular reason. I just think taller QB's are more successful.

That statement is more or less true in the NFL, especially if you're looking farther back than 3 years ago. However, there is a current trend completely debating that argument, and on the college level, there are plenty QB's around 6' that have been extremely successful.

Russell Wilson disagrees

It's obviously a reasonable argument to make. I mean of the 32 NFL starting QBs only 3 of them are 6'1" or shorter. Of course there are exceptions, but few and far between.

Of course with him being a kid headed into college, I don't mind his height at all. As long as the kid is not 5'7, I think he will do fine.

Good thing this kid will be playing College Football then. People make this way more of a big deal than it should be.

And how many top athletes are told to stick to a different position because they are less then 6'1? How many good arms are given improper training because of their height? How many NFL teams skip out on drafting a 5'11 college star because of his height? We already saw Wilson - as immensely talented as he is - drop to the 3rd round. How many NFL caliber arms are being undrafted for the same reasons?

We just don't have enough information to say that smaller QB's are or are not less likely to succeed, not with much accuracy anyway. I'll take talent and roll the dice. Especially in the college game.

I get what your saying and maybe you need more information. It looks like the guys making the decisions in the NFL don't. As I said, I don't really mind it as I am a lot more a college football fan than pro. I myself like to watch film and try my hand at evaluating players to see if I can spot one early on that looks to be under the radar and see where he ends up. When I am looking at QBs, it's usually 6'2+ and about 190+ coming out of HS is what I find myself leaning toward.

Who do you guys think is next option if Francois goes to FSU & Gibson goes to Auburn? I think it's crucial for Butch's future to get a great Qb this class. We whiffed on Gentry.

Didn't whiff exactly. Location won him over. Dormady is who we will likely end up with

My guess would be Dormady as well.

Darnold could be in the mix. With Waller thinking he is being slow played by OSU and OR, maybe CBJ swoops in and can make something happen there.

Thanx guys. Can't keep up with recruiting like I usually do. Hopefully Jennings will be pretty good. He's got my last name! I just hope we get a good one.Seems like the right kind of Qb in this type of offense means a world of difference. Hope I'm wrong about Dobbs, but from what I've seen last year I don't think he's the future.Hope he makes a major jump from last year to this year.

He was a TFR thrown to the wolves in the SEC. IMO he will be fine. Would not be shocked at all to see Dobbs the UT starter in 2015 and 2016.

I definitely hope so.Would be a lot better for us if Dobbs improved drastically. He seems like a good kid with a good head on his shoulders. I definitely think he's better than Worley.True he was a freshman last year.

I think Butch lands one of his top 2 targets...Gibson or Francois. He's too good with recruiting and relationships, and has a ton to sell at Rocky Top. You guys are selling him short IMO.

I agree that we will get a good QB. Think we can get Dormady then maybe Gibson later in the process. I could see Butch taking those 2kids and Jennings with only 2healthy scholly QB's left after this yr. Really like Dormady's size, arm and upside. Jmo

No way you take 3 QBs in this class. That would greatly jeopardize landing a big time '16 kid.

I'm cool with Jennings and Dormady.
