No particular reason. I just think taller QB's are more successful.
Russell Wilson disagrees
It's obviously a reasonable argument to make. I mean of the 32 NFL starting QBs only 3 of them are 6'1" or shorter. Of course there are exceptions, but few and far between.
Of course with him being a kid headed into college, I don't mind his height at all. As long as the kid is not 5'7, I think he will do fine.

And how many top athletes are told to stick to a different position because they are less then 6'1? How many good arms are given improper training because of their height? How many NFL teams skip out on drafting a 5'11 college star because of his height? We already saw Wilson - as immensely talented as he is - drop to the 3rd round. How many NFL caliber arms are being undrafted for the same reasons?
We just don't have enough information to say that smaller QB's are or are not less likely to succeed, not with much accuracy anyway. I'll take talent and roll the dice.
Thanx guys. Can't keep up with recruiting like I usually do. Hopefully Jennings will be pretty good. He's got my last name! I just hope we get a good one.Seems like the right kind of Qb in this type of offense means a world of difference. Hope I'm wrong about Dobbs, but from what I've seen last year I don't think he's the future.Hope he makes a major jump from last year to this year.
I think Butch lands one of his top 2 targets...Gibson or Francois. He's too good with recruiting and relationships, and has a ton to sell at Rocky Top. You guys are selling him short IMO.
