'15 CAN F Kyle Alexander (UT commit 5/7/15)

Without going through everything, can someone recap this kid's recruitment and stock?

I know he is a similar prospect to Tariq Owens that ideally would see a redshirt year. Where do the services have him ranked? What is his real offer list?

TIA

Picked Tennessee over New Mexico, Missouri, Dayton, Rice and Western Kentucky iirc

Not really rated by any services as many haven't seen him enough to evaluate him, Barnes offered him while at Texas though fwiw

Very similar to Tariq, ideally either redshirts or sees limited minutes in year 1

Not a lot known about him honestly. Only played 2 years of organized ball. Comes from good stock though. Dad played in NBA, and sister plays in WNBA. Ranked #305 by 247, but plays on a stacked HS team. Developing player whose nread and butter is defense and rebounding right now. He will need to add weight and strength and has a game reminiscent of T. Owens.

Edit: got some looks from Duke IIRC, though no offer. He's a kid you take and hope you can develop what skills are hiding inside his 6-10 frame.

How much muscle can they add in 6 months?
Really think this guy is a lot more athletic than Owens, but less experience.
Would think he'll have to play if they miss on Izzie.

247 has him rated at 309, 3star .83...

That's putting it lightly.....that team has some ridiculous talent. My buddy is the head coach of that team and he's a damn good guy at developing players, so I'm sure Kyle will be prepared for the SEC.

I agree that he will have to play if we dont pick up Izundu. He would definitely be a redshirt candidate otherwise.

Boom!

We always talk about how a kid's offer list reflects recruiting better than what the player is ranked necessarily. If Kyle has such enormous potential, isn't it a little odd that Tennessee was his best offer? I just know as a fan base, we've judged a lot of players based on who they have offers from, and Alexander has a bunch of mid-major offers. O

Not sure if committable, but per Rivals he also holds offers from Ark, Mizzu and Pitt. Fwiw

I think most here will tell you we recruited him based on potential. The UKs, Dukes, and others dont have to recruit potential. They mostly recruit the already haves. This kid is raw.
