'15 AL PG Lamonte Turner (UT commit 4/28/15)

AD had already told you the problem is the college entrance exam. You have to pass one or the other, the SAT or the ACT to gain entrance.

Again posted today by VQ, the hold up with Turner is a math class, not a test score, he is good in the department. Not sure if he's retaking a summer math class or what the course of action is, but per VQ there is definite optimism on UT's side.

If its the math class then it would be the best of all scenarios. That would mean he needed a core HS math class. It would make sense since he is being reclassified to a senior from a junior. Its far better than not making the entrance score or the dreaded JC math class which has bit the football team in the butt on a bunch of great players.

I have this figured out so both AD and VQ are correct. (Not really but trying to avoid conflict)

Both the ACT and SAT testing dates have past for the summer. So retaking either isn't an option.

He needs to retake a math class in order to raise his gpa to meet the test test score on the sliding scale.

Thus the math class is the hold up because improving the test isn't an option.

All just guessing but makes everyone correct

You may be onto something. I was thinking I took the ACT in July one yr, but I could be wrong.

Will we be waiting on the Clearinghouse after he finishes his math course, or do you know?

If it's just a math course could be done virtually through an NCAA approved resource.

As most sane people thought all along.

If you have a reasonably long history with UT hoops, then sanity does not play any role in this. The fact is, reality tells us that ANYTHING is possible when it comes this program, thus I will believe it when I see it.

I do hope for the best though.

Here is the August update from 247 on Lamonte Turner. They were told this week that there was “definitely nothing new” for better or worse regarding that situation. His late reclassification from the Class of 2016 to the Class of 2015 has come with some hurdles and it's coming down to the wire.

I know what outcome you want....
