As someone who played against him, I'd argue the best TN high school receiver prospect of all time was Adarius Bowman of Notre Dame (Chattanooga). He was 6'4," 200 lbs, Tennessee Mr. Football and participated in the 2003 U.S. Army game. Dude had 293 receiving yards and 5 receiving touchdowns in a 35-39 loss to McCallie, the eventual state champion for scholarship-awarding private schools. He was basically the Calvin Johnson of Tennessee high school football.

Bowman had some substance abuse problems in college that derailed his chances to make the NFL, but he's still playing in the CFL today. He was unbelievable on high school.

Wednesday was a huge day for Tennessee as the Vols were the talk of the recruiting world nabbing 5-star, instate wide receiver Josh Malone. A lot of work went into securing Malone's commitment since Butch Jones took over as head coach almost a year ago and that included all the way up until the last few days.

Clemson had the lead coming out of his visit and Malone even told some close to him he didn't think anything could change his mind but the Vols continue to chop away and after Malone met with Jones and Tommy Thigpen last Friday Tennessee took the lead for good.

After Jones and Thigpen left the house that afternoon Malone and his family created a pros and cons list and Tennessee had the most pros for him.

Monday there was more confidence from Malone that Tennessee was the spot and Tuesday night the family convened one last time to make sure everything was good and Tennessee was the choice on Wednesday.

Understatement of the year, imho. Just saying. :) But hey.....it's no worse than folks saying they got a "stiffy" when a 17yr old boy commits. All kinds of homo....innuendo....going on around here. We need someone to police this joint up (and send such posts to a gay pride thread, or something). :salute:

Since we are guessing as to who certain posters are, has anyone given thought to possibility that skeeter is Hubbs or maybe one of the other VQ guys? Sure would make sense with how he has been able to stay in the "athletic department" for so long through so many coaching changes.

I'd think the VQ guys would hate this site since we give their info away for free. They probably have no desire to give us anything.

I would think the same. I've thought maybe skeeter is a student trainer or something. Not sure if they have that much knowledge to everything going on or not.
