Yes and yes..he graduated from The U of Colorado
Saw on Twitter where a Texas fan was saying Josh would go to Tennessee and never be heard from again...continued to say that is what happens with all of our players. Guess he never watches the NFL? :whistling:
Still playing with your GI Joe and Power Rangers dolls...while slugging down a can of red bull, eh?Let me paint a picture for you all. We now have the ability to have a wicked offense. Think about this for a minute. Pearson and Malone on the outside blazing defenses. We put our best receiver at the moment in North in the Slot so he has better match-ups. Pig on the opposite slot of the 4 wide set. We have Riley sitting in the backfield lined up with Hurd.
Now here where the most beautiful part of this painting comes in. What does a defense do? Do they go to man coverage and hope like heck they don't get burned over the top by Pearson, Malone, North, Pig, or Hurd coming out of the back field. Who is assigned to cover Hurd? a linebacker? Poor kid will end up with an ear full of coach spit. Think how devastating just this one package would be to defenses. Now remember we have Helm, Wolfe, Ryan Jenkins, Paul Harris, Jason Croom, Marlin Lane, Jonathon Johnson, Vic Wharton, and so many others to just plug in for breathers. Guys I'm excited for the future. It looks really bright from here.
Yeah, I watched that game, on ESPN earlier in the season...between Station Camp and Beech HS. It was the Jalen Hurd and Josh Malone show, for real. Both guys put on a clinic. I recall Malone returning the kickoff for a score. He's going to be a real weapon on Kickoff returns, as well as WR. Vic Wharton probably will, too.If you havnt seen this kids film, go look at it on YouTube. I held myself because I didn't want to get too excited but Dang. Kid a stud. His speed is underrated. Deadly speed.
Some of the older guys. How does Malone compare to another TN kid marlon brown?
Sweet! I remember Brown started out his Sr. Season as a 5 star but dropped to a 4 star by signing day. Malone has done the opposite so that speaks to his higher ceiling or flawed ranking lolMy understanding is that several of the people who follow Tennessee high school football say Malone is the best WR in Tennessee high school football in recent memory. While Brown was highly recruited, Malone is supposed to be a higher level prospect. At least that's been the Volnation rumor. I think Malone is going to be an outstanding player.

Good point I forget about divisionsI think one of the differences would be level of competition. Marlon Brown played pretty week competition in HS in a smaller division iirc. Malone has had pretty tough sledding down in Metro Nashville being in a bigger classification. IMO it shouldn't be as big of a jump to major D-1 for Malone.
I think both North and Malone have speed...so no need to go small just for that reason. It's really hard to recruit speed AND size at DB, so most teams will have only average sized to smallish DB's.How bout this just for fun. We're playing a defense who's secondary is really fast but small so our 4 wide is North, Malone, Croom and Pearson so we win by being physical. If the secondary we're playing is bigger and strong but a lil slower we play Howard, Young, Wharton and Berry so we win with speed and agility!
