I worry about the relationship he has built with Watson, the incoming Clemson QB. Also Chad Morris being vocal about becoming a HC, means a new/different offensive system.

However, I do think he picks the Vols because of the length of time the relationship has been built & his friends going to UT. He sees the other great talent coming in & wants to be a part of it.

25 hours & counting...

Onto the Kiffin topic. How many Kiffin recruits are still helping out the program? None, the last just played their last game. I'm still very appreciative of Kiffin for giving Daniel Hood a scholarship. We had arguably the best punter in the nation because of Kiffin. Our great former receivers (-Patterson) were thanks to the Kiffin regime. The majority of our O-Line was on board with Kiffin. There's a lot that we had during Dooley's tenure that he failed to win with, but it's dumb to act as if talent was missing.

How many would have been helping had the SC job not opened up? A whole damn lot.

People complain about the type of players that Kiffin brought to town, but don't have anything to say when it's brought up that he actually kicked people off the team for making mistakes. Of the last 3 coaches, Kiffin is the only one you could count on to remove bad seeds immediately.

Hunter wasn't on our radar with Kiffin. Dooley closed DaRick. Kiffin was bringing in the "upstanding citizen" Markeith Ambles...remember him? I'll give you the oline, minus Tiny, and Palardy.

OCI knowing he has committed even though the staffs don't, and no one close to him does is the most compelling thing to come of this thread in a couple of days.

Clemson honestly is not a true powerhouse team! They've won a few games in the last couple of years and are currently ranked. Good for them, lol. But NO one really thinks of Clemson as a National Championship contender, a historic powerhouse, or a legit national powerhouse team. Just ask the Gamecocks!!!

Clemson has hit their ceiling with Dabo IMO. Not much NFL success from their program even over the past 4-5 years when they have been good. CJ Spiller is probably the best they have had come out and he can't stay on the field. Every other Tiger has been a role player.

Clemson has three former WRs in the league. DeAndre Hopkins, Jacoby Ford, and guy with the last name Brown in Arizona. I think thats it. I know Watkins will be there next year. Tennessee put two in the league this season that have both produced more than those. Not to mention the countless other Pro Bowl Vols, and we have been down in that time.

Honestly it doesn't really matter how I say it because nobody believes anybody on the internet, but Hunter and his parents loved Lane Kiffin. He was coming to Tennessee as a draft day switch. Here is where we really got into the mix for him. He was asked to go public on his decommitment and UT switch in order to stop the backward motion of the 2010 class under Dooley and try to right the ship. A brother of mine just graduated in Journalism from UT and got to have a 1-on-1 discussion with Justin's mom.

I know you won't believe it, but whatever.

As for Da'Rick, we got into it for him here.

Neither of those stars play in orange if not for the Kiffin staff.

Can't count Stone either, he said he wasn't coming if Kiffin was still here. Also, hasn't there been many articles about how nearly every player he recruited left early and/or hardly contributed. Why in the world would anyone still be in love with Kiffin? We have Butch now, who has out-recruited Kiffin in a much tougher situation, and done it legally!

I think the long relationship with UT, friends, family, etc. will be to much to overcome. He probably likes Clemson a lot, just like he liked UGA and FSU after those visits, but in the end UT gets the signature.
