Don't think so. No need for a LOI if you're an EE. You just sign fin aid papers and enroll. The LOI just keeps kids from bailing on a school right before August and vice versa.

It's 3 possible dates IMO.

First day of class in January.

First day of any athletic participation(bowl practice)

When the fall semester ends.


For the kids sake I am hopeful its the end of fall semester

I do know this to be fact:

A player practicing in the Pre season before school starts triggers officially attending with the NCAA.


Since that's the case in August I am hopeful that once Malone practices for the bowl game he is no longer open for contact for the 3 losing teams

I think it is once they enroll in class and attend class...Remember orgeron telling commitments to not show up to class so they could transfer to USC when Kiffin left.
