I agree with this.

I think North will be the only "starter," really.

I see Malone, Pearson, Pig and Jenkins (think he's going to be a really good one) rotating around a lot.

Pearson will be a permanent starter. He is better than everybody but North. He will start opposite of North. Malone is a great talent and it would not surprise me if he won a starting job by mid season. I believe he is that good.

Such things happen at every major university.

Sure. But that doesn't change the fact that story is about FSU, one of Malone's finalists, and all over the media these days. He dropped Vandy after the rape case came out, I'm guessing FSU might as well just stop calling Josh from now on. They out.

I didn't realize that's why he dropped vandy. Where do you think they were for him when he dropped them? In 3rd or 4th behind UT, uga, and possibly fsu or someone else, or were they right up there with everyone else? Just wondering if he was highly considering them before that happened or if they were further down his list and basically out if it already.

I can't imagine Josh Malone or any other good kid not having reservations about going to FSU after reading something like this.

Jameis Winston Isn't The Only Problem Here: An FSU Teacher's Lament

Wow.

How would a story about football players pushing around teachers and an athletic department that not only backs them up in doing so but also goes further in helping them "pass" classes cause a football player to not want to go to that school?

Lets be honest, most of these top players are looking for a school that will not only get them to the NFL but help them become a top draft pick. If these kids were worried about getting an honest education then schools like Harvard and Vandy would be right up there with ND in football history and Bama would be a lower tier FBS school scraping to land low 3-stars consistently.

I know they were in his top 5, not sure where exactly. Here's a quote from Malone on 9/4 when he announced his OV's to UGA, Clemson, UT and FSU.

As far as Vanderbilt's standing, Malone said he's not sure if he'll visit again this season, but that the Commodores are still in the mix.

"They're still good with me," he said. "But there's a lot of worries right now around the program. That's what I really see. They've been in the headlines for a couple of months now."

The FSU headlines can't be appealing for Malone and his family, IMO.

That's an awfully broad brush you're painting with.

Wow yeah after reading that I would have to agree that FSU is most likely out of it as well.

Wow. Maybe some players actually have standards. Seems like you are kind of trivializing these events. You don't know how this is going to affect Malone. He may not want any part of FSU after knowing this info. FSU is not the only team on Malones list that puts guys into the NFL.

Last time I checked, Tennessee has put plenty of guys in the NFL. We have also put more all time greats in the NFL than FSU.

I think everyone realizes that some of these shenanigans go on at these universities. I've heard things at UT through friends that have worked in academics. For every idiot football player that reads on an elementary school level you also have a Josh Dobbs type of kid that a lot of people would be proud to have as a son---an all-round great student and athlete. I don't know Josh Malone from Adam--might be a very intelligent guy but I'd say it would be pretty awesome to join some of the best players in the state to right the ship. Hopefully a few of those guys take advantage of the good education Tennessee can provide them.
