im a heartless bast--- but if he is not coming to UT .I do not care if he makes it out of the opening in one piece. I AM Nothing like a lot of you over the last 5 years we all have hoped certain players come to UT and then when they did,nt you guys say I hope he does good were he is going and some say I will be watching them .if they do not pick the VOLS they might as well go join the Canadian football league out of high school . cause I do not wish any player the best and hope he has a good career if not at UT. If I had a brother young enough and good enough to play any where and he choice someone besides UT I would break his freaking legs not wish him well at flordia or bama or uga ,usc or Clemson. The only collage football players I give a damn about wear clad and big orange and run through a T. Harsh but but atleast im honest about it. others feel the same way just do not want to say it.

Amen

"I am going to narrow it down soon, very soon. I am going get it down to around 10 schools, but I am not going to announce it to the public and make a big deal about it. I am just going to keep it to myself for now. I will be getting schools down to a much smaller number soon though."

"I will probably get to five [schools] after I cut it down to 10, take a few more visits, and then figure out where I am going to take my five official visits to. I am going get down to that around the beginning of the season."

"The school just has to prove to me that my position is one of need," he said. "They have to be real with me and not just filling my head with dreams. I want the coaches to show me that they are honest and that a degree from that school can carry a lot of weight. I want to be able to use that degree and connections from that school to flourish in my career after football."

Last half of that last paragraph sounds like it came straight from Franklin's mouth.

No, Josh's mentor, Brent Alexander has been stressing that Josh must prepare for life after football to both Josh and his parents ever since he was a freshman in high school. He has been taking the various entrance exams during his freshman and sophomore years to prepare for college. Good sound advice.

You see some footwork, body movement, and use of hands that high school kids normally have not learned at this stage.

Josh's mentor, played 12 seasons as a defensive back in the NFL and is teaching Josh how to refine his footwork, how to use his hands to beat press coverage, how to best beat a defensive back.

I am very impressed by his development as seen in the video. You will not see a whole lot of this during the season, as Station Camp just does not have the personnel to get the ball to him out in space down the field like they can in camp.

Again, I am impressed by what I saw. I sure hope that we can beat out UCLA, Georgia, Clemson, and a couple of other schools in order to get him to attend school at the University of Tennessee.

Totally agree. Malone looks great in this video. He is a stud and I hope we can land him. I like Booth but would much rather have Malone.

This kid is looking great at the opening right now. Maybe watching someone choose orange tomorrow will help our cause with him. He is a game changer.

Tux,

Ha anything changed here? We still a long shot, or have we improves out chances lately?

Josh Malone, WR, Station Camp High, Gallatin, Tenn.

Skinny:*The four-star Malone remains open to dozens of schools, and it was easy to see why so many want him. He was natural and fluid, and he ran pristine routes. He showed very good hands and got off jams well. His release from the line of scrimmage was very good, and at times he waited a moment, then blew past the cornerback at the line of scrimmage.

I'd like to see him pluck/high point the ball more but he's got very good yet deceptive deep speed. Like him a lot as a prospect. All he needs more than anything is some weight now.

I have not spoken to his mentor/advisor in a couple of weeks. One thing you can count on with Josh, he will do his thing and in the way that he wants it done- on his time frame.

Don't poo-poo UCLA's interest in him.

Only got a chance to look at his technique on one play at 7 on 7 last night. I'm impressed with his footwork and ability to set the CB up at the line of scrimmage. He had patience and just blew past the guy lined up against him. You could tell the CB didn't think he had the speed that he showed. Malone should be good anywhere he goes.

"he's got very good yet deceptive deep speed."

My thoughts thru and thru. Kids fluid in his movements...silky smooth. At times looks as if he's not going full speed. I don't mean that in a bad way. Some good players have a knack for making it look easy. He's that dude IMO. Very solid football player.

Potential is through the roof. Wants to take all officials before committing. He will be a NSD guy. Love his intagibles. Would be a big get for a much needed position.
