Butch has a lot of work to do in order to get Josh Malone to sign with the Vols. Can it be done? Yes, but it is going to be a long arduous road with a lot of hurdles to clear.

No, I said that we should not be passing over top talent and holding off top talent while we waited on Josh. If that means cut bait, then you do, if you feel that it could cost us some other talented WRs in the process. We are opn the outside looking in on this one.

Tux, if the information that you have been privy to is true, I feel decently confident that the UT coaches are aware of the situation.

Booth may have been told to wait for a receiver other than Malone for all I know. It could be as simple as they want to see him camp too.

I really doubt that the staff is being held hostage by Malone in regards to WR recruiting to the extreme that we would hold off other recruits if the information you believe to be true, is in fact true.

I agree to most of what you said, However, there was some more details and names of other people involved that were discussed with me, that I am pretty sure that the staff may not have known about and that I have not shared with the board. The information has been passed on to the right people. I will let them sort that information and make any changes in the plan, if they deem that it is needed.

I don't think many people want to forget all about Malone. I think most feel we should just not pass on other top WRs waiting for him to figure out what he is going to do. If we can take 29 kids in this class, we have 14 spots to go. Malone has as long as it takes to fill those spots to decide if he wants to wear UT orange. I say fill the class. I would not wait on anyone for very long.

Yep there's a long way left to go till NSD. Showing progress on the field and an exciting and enticing offensive scheme this year could go a long way in the minds of many recruits on said side of the ball.

Neither of those stories is anything like Malone's. UT wasn't even on Brown's radar until almost signing day..maybe after. Barnett spurned Mich State Bama and USC to commit to us fairly early. I'm sure that CBJ won't give up on Malone but none of these situations is really the same.
