282 yards against a good D isn't impressive? lol

A lot of the MJ faithful are a tad pissed about the last 50 yards he got on a cheap play at the end of the game when they should have been kneeling. kind of redneckish but hey, its Beech.

Im getting a totally different report from my other MJ brothers.

Kid ran hard against a pretty good D. Big kid who IMO will grow out of the RB position. My father in law told me radio was saying 38 carries 240 something. Take away the garbage stat padding run at the end and MJ kept him under 200.

37 carries, 269 yards.

Y'all have fun thinking he's jesus 2.0

To the ones complaining about the run play, I have seen Coach Perry do much worse. And the Tennessean had him with 299 and 2 scores. I would have to question anyone's football knowledge who calls that a quiet night. What is that almost 800 yards and 7 tad's against Henry Co. and Mt. Juliet? Pretty strong to me. Of course look at his offers, those people must not know anything either.

Look, I hope the kid makes it. I hope he goes to UT and becomes the best RB we've ever had. All i'm doing is stating that in my opinion he doesn't have what it takes to be a successful RB at the next level. If you disagree, fine. I have yet to talk to anyone that was actually at the game that disagrees. However, i'm sure Beech fans will say "look he had 200+ yards! " and call it a good game no matter what. He also had an interception stolen from him from a 5-9, 165 pound DB, so there's that too.

He's a good back. He's not great by any means. I wish him the best of luck, as I do any player.

I'll see him play again, maybe my opinion changes. We'll see, could have just been an off night. I know y'all will say 250+ yards is a hell of an off night well yeah, it is. I'd rather see ability than yards.

Read a box score, you'll know everything about what happened.

I'm not questioning his offer list. It's amazing, and obviously I know nothing compared to those coaches. I'm simply stating an opinion. Based off of tonight, though.. I don't think any coach in attendance could be overly impressed with Hurd's overall performance.

Well you are sure entitled to your opinion. But that is why most coaches recruiting at this level do not just make an offer based on one game. Mt. Juliet id a pretty good football team. I had rather UT take him and things not work as opposed to him going to Alabama and winning g the heisman. I know that want happen but we all should remember Randal Cobb and LeRoy Thompson. Tennessee players with interest in UT but the Volswere a day late and a dollar short on.

Shocked it's that high. Very quiet 282.

Maybe he'll turn out to be a good back, but I can't see it after tonight.

At first glance, I thought that you were just an idiot. Then I realized you were from Mt. Juliet, and now I see why you're crying.

Beech has one RB, and he ran a very LOUD 300 yards down Mt. Juliet's throat. He didn't take breaks, and he didn't get rest, and he got pounded with 10 in the box the WHOLE night. And you think this kid is soft? He is, by far, the hardest runner (at 16) that I have ever seen!

He has pretty runs on the easy defenses, and then he has whatever-he-can get on the tough games. He is the leading running back in the NATION and is on course to break the state record. Yet, you weren't impressed.

Big 6A Mt Juliet was supposed to silence 5A Beech tonight, but that didn't happen. Take your obvious irrelevant assessments and go sulk somewhere else because you're NO authority on anything regarding this thread!

Honestly, I don't care about Mj losing the game. I'm an alum but their players think they are the best things in the world, and needed to be brought down a notch. Was Hurd the best player on the field? Obviously. Is he the best RB in the nation as his STATS imply? No.

I never said I am not impressed with his stats, I am. I've posted that every week this entire season. What i'm not impressed with is him shying away from contact, not hitting correct holes and just running straight outside, and his lack of running moves. He is 6-2 215 or somewhere close to it yet all he wants to do is zig zag in and out. Mj has two safties that he has 60 pounds on but they brought him down with ease everytime because he wanted to try and run away from them rather than going into them.

The kid is a good back, he's not what I thought he'd be. I actually thought he looked better against Mj last season than he did tonight.

I've enjoyed disagreeing with you all but I think i'll hit the road to knoxville now :)

See you all there, GBO.

(I'm in X4, row 51 if anyone wants to have a friendly chat about the great Barry Sanders, er.. I mean Jalen Hurd :)

You can always bump your opinion in 5-6 years (if Hurd becomes a bust for some reason) and tell VN, "I told you so". I am sure someone in this crowd will bump your opinion for you if he tears it up in college. :p
