'14 TN DB Todd Kelly Jr. (UT Signee 2/5/14)

he has been on the radar since he was an 8th grader as he was the defensive MVP of the US Army 8th grade game that year...other notables from that team from the area include Akeem Cooperwood...

he is a very talented player...the best I have seen in the last 10 years or so....at his position and at his age.he has great size..is well schooled in the game....is physical and is hungry. ...he plays a variety of positions out of neccesity which include QB, RB, WR,DB.......

he will be the most highly recruited player IMO from the Knoxville area since Harrison Smith....kids like TKJ dont come around often and he would be a standout in any state...I dont prescribe to the rankings alot but he will be among the top 5 players at his position in his class nationally IMO...

he has the grades..he has the talent...and evident by his very early offers....he will be highly coveted..

Has anyone heard anything on Matthew Pyke...he was also in that all American game with Kelly Jr. Pyke would be a great pick up if we got him....6'3 300 and can really block...I hope Tennessee gets on him soon due to the fact that someone posted letters from LSU and Oregon to Pyke on another site...get em coach!!!!

Being a former player's son should be a no-brainer. We should implement that into the VFL program. If and when you have children, don't let them become anything other than a Vol. Here's looking at you Justin Hunter.

Why Boom? You can't just boom to boom. There has to be boom worthy news and you have to share it.

This kid will be a Vol, imo. He now has an offer from us and he likes us.

If we botch this, it's because we have a subpar season and CDD gets the boot. Again JMO.

Here's looking at you Colquitts. We could use a decent punter. Hopefully, there are some little Colquitts somewhere getting ready to go into high school soon.

Right now Clemson is on top of my list. I love what the staff brought to the table. They just brought in an ACC championship and pushed their way up in the rankings. That's impressive to me. My dad played in the NFL so I'm trying to go as far as possible with football."

Everybody Panic! Fire Dooley! We don't want him anyway! We better hurry up and impress this kid, we're running out of time!

I guess the Clemson Compensation Package is better than the VFL program.

I'm not really worried or starting any sort of panic. Just think it would be nice if he said publicly how much he likes the Vols. IIRC, he hasn't missed a home game in years.

The Rivals article the quote is from is by Clemson writers. I wouldn't put too much stock into it. I just posted because I thought it would be useful information to bring to VN. But I wouldn't look into it. Like O&W said, he hasn't missed a UT football game in years. His dad played at UT and loved it. I would be very surprised if he signed somewhere other than UT. NSD 2014 is two years away. I got faith the Vols will win him over by then.

TKJ is like Neo from the Matrix. He's the one. He's that damn good. LOL. Seriously though, we can't let him get away.

agree completely, I believe he's in our Orange when it's all said and done. We're going to be tough to throw the ball against in a couple of years.

Maybe he was misquoted by the clemson writer...it is a clemson site....I talked to him this morning AFTER offer and there was no indication that Clemson was in the lead....he was happy about the offer ...but didnt say one word about Clemson leading...but you dont have to beleive what I tell you....

That quote means squat. At the end of the day, this kid isn't going to be recruited hard for another year.
