I have read that the kid is really 150lbs instead of the 180 that has been reported. If so that might explain his low rating.

He clearly is a RS develop kind of player if that weight is true but he has elite speed and frame to put on weight. We are few years away from knowing how this one turns out IMO.

To answer your question earlier, he missed his sophomore year

After reading about the kid I feel a lot better. A high character kid who may be an EE...and he wasn't an afterthought..,coaches have been watching him for a while...

Butch is good at finding talent . The 1st pick in the nfl draft no one wanted him but Butch he was underweight . and then look at sutton

One thing I have not seen mentioned about them deciding to offer this kid at this time. I think there is real concern within the program about whether or not Riyahd Jones will be able to play football again. I think the timing of this kids offer is possibly connected to that.

It's kind of funny you mention the timing. I figured the timing was associated with watching a lot of Oregon film the last couple of days and repeatedly saying "Damn! That guy is fast too!" I don't think we have anyone on our scout team that can come close to emulating the speed of Oregon. CBJ said as much in his interview yesterday. Speed is on their minds.

I posted last week that I thought it possible the NCAA grant that spot back if he had an unknown preexisting issue that ends his career. Regarding the 25 rule that is

Anybody know if that's correct??

I don't know if he's a player but he does have the speed on the back end we've been missing for a few years. If you're going to take a flyer then do it on a guy with wheels or size. Technique can be taught

Tennessee liked him in camp. They didn't offer because they wanted to see him play. They liked his size and and speed, but they wanted to see more game tape on him so after seeing him play two games they obviously felt like his game film backed up what they saw in camp.

Is he going to be a great player? I have no idea. Is he going to be a starter? I don't know. This this is kind of an old school way of recruiting. See a guy you like because of his measurables. Don't offer just based on that. Wait and see him play then go from there.

They have watched every play the kid has played this season including scrimmages and a jamboree. Now some of it was on tape, but they watched every play. Not just highlights.

Speed, speed, speed is what we need. If he adds 25 pounds and keeps his speed and quickness he will start for a few years for us.

Woohoo post 100! Now I can start that thread about... Ah crap I forgot. Poop!
