'14 JUCO WR Eric Lauderdale (previous UT commit)

Hubbs said this yesterday about Jackson...

And Fortenberry said his coach isn't a fan of UT right now because of how we came in after spring ball and took J. Johnson.

That Juco coach should have thrown the ball to Johnson more than 5 times in an entire season if he loves him so much. Lame excuse. Smells like he has some other D1 coaches paying him and that's a lame excuse to be mad at butch. This is a dream shot of Johnson. A real man would be proud of the kid and Butch giving him a shot based on leap of faith

Had a catch for us against SC in a crucial situation if I remember right. Its also too early to judge if it was worth it. We get him 2 more years.

He has been recruited over severely. Imo If he isn't a factor now he never will be with our young WRs playing all the snaps now,

I read somewhere that we're not going to take any JUCO's who were not EE's in this class. Butch is going to plug immediate holes for depth and move on with high school players. Sounds good to me.

Good idea. It would improve the juco's chance of first year production. It'd be my policy.

Checked this thread after waking up this morning... bumped an additional 2+ pages. I thought, "Sweet, something is brewing in the Lauderdale thread!" Come to find out, something was just "Bruin".

You can bet the coaches want them changed. That's why they expect schools to respect the unwritten rules of not stealing kids

Maybe I missed it, but are you actually tied into the pulse of JUCO coaches' feelings on this or just making assumptions again?

Very tied in

It's a fact that "stealing" a player has a consequence. IMO many times its worth it. It's also my opinion this wasn't one of those times

He probably meant,"The UT coaches won't allow me to be a commitment and taking visits". I think Lauderdale would now be a back up plan if Malone went elsewhere.

I would also not think it a bad idea to use the spot on a DL player if Malone chose not to be a Vol.

He's no longer an EE is the main reason he is no longer committed.

Shouldn't have a girlfriend if you're going to go on dates with other girls. Makes sense to me. You could always try to hide it, but when Rivals, I mean Cheaters, is documenting your every move, it makes it a bit hard...

That could very well be the reason. Pretty sure Pearson said prior to his commitment he had to make sure he was an EE. Maybe the staff would have not taken him if he was not an EE.

According to Doug Matthews, this staff will not take JUCO's if they aren't EE's.

Mr. Pearson already did. It does seem Malone is still a take even with the addition of Pearson. Malone could take Jackson's spot as soon as it goes public he is not going to be at UT.

That's my ideal situation at WR and I think there's a good chance that it comes to fruition.
