Guess we'll just have to settle for 9 in a row....![]()
Well you still failed, because I didn't say he wasn't good either. I agreed with what he said about Green not being proof that he is good. Never said he's not good or a fluke. Let it go.
Here is another little fun fact for everybody discussing Joe Haden. I like Joe Haden and he is solid, but I will compare him to one of our CB still in the league.
2012 stats:
Jabari Greer -
51 total tackles
3 ints
13 passes defended
Joe Haden -
51 total tackles
3 ints
10 passes defended
According to stats, Jabari Greer is on par with Joe Haden. Does that mean that J. Greer deserve to be in the top 100 too?
You're welcome to clarify what you meant by, "Plus its one game" then? How many games of proof do you need?
Week 1: Mike Wallace v. Haden, 1 rec, 5 targets, 15 yards, 0 tds
Week 2: Torrey Smith v. Haden, 7 rec, 13 targets, 85 yards, 0 tds
Week 3: Greg Jennings v. Haden, 3 rec, 6 targets, 43 yards, 0 tds
Week 4: AJ Green v. Haden, 7 rec, 15 targets, 51 yards, 0 tds
Week 5: Stevie Johnson 2 rec, 3 targets, 19 yards, 0 tds
Teams are completing less than 50% of their passes against Haden and haven't hit him for a TD yet. Shutdown corner.
I'm not here claiming that UF is WRU or anything of the sort. I'm also not here claiming that UF's passing offense is lighting up scoreboards.
I just think there are a few misconceptions:
1. That UF produces NO wr's and that somehow UT is a vastly superior option for a WR when it comes to choosing schools to get to the league. I don't think the stats back this up. You can ridicule the ability of the UF wr's in the league but that wasn't the point. I agree that UT's group is better than UF's as a whole...but I'd also say that Percy is the best of the bunch by a pretty wide margin (at least right now).
2. That UF's passing offense is vastly inferior to UT's. Again, I don't think the stats back that up. Last year that was certainly the case. But then again, UT had an NFL QB, 2 NFL WR's and an NFL TE....while UF had a 1st year starter at QB. This year I'd argue UF has a better passing offense (even though the running game is still the focal point) than UT. In the Miami game Driskel threw for nearly 300 yds, but of course the turnovers killed UF. Since Murphy took over the passing game has been efficient, but not explosive.
Percy hardly even plays. He's temperamental as hell. The Vikings drafted a Vol to replace him. Louis Murphy was supposed to be a deep threat in Oakland but a UT WR Denarious Moore replaced him as well. I respect some of your defensive players but man you guys know your WRs will turn out to be nothing.![]()
You're nuts if you think Percy Harvin has turned out to be nothing. I'm all-Vol through and through, but Harvin is one of the most dynamic playmakers in the league.
Read thoroughly then post. I never made that statement in my post. Everyone knows Harvin has an attitude problem. Migraines are just a code name for this jacked up attitude he has. He is known for fighting with coaches.
Your last sentence reads, "You guys know your WRs turn out to be nothing." So I read thoroughly, then posted. If you didn't mean to include Harvin, you should have indicated as much. Having a bad attitude doesn't equate to being void of talent or effectiveness. No one will argue he's a headcase at times off the field, but he's a stud on the field.
