'14 JUCO WR Eric Lauderdale (previous UT commit)

I bet Justin Hunter has a better TD/reception ratio than any of the Gators

Gaffney is a free agent.

You are right on the others, all the FLA WRs have a combined 16 catches on the season but they are technically NFL players.

Thompson is turning into a decent kick off returner more than a WR, Cooper shows flashes in Philly, and Bubba Caldwell is actually doing pretty well in Denver. Others are more role players agreed. For some reason I thought Gaffney was still on the Redskins but I guess I am wrong. I am not arguing that we are WRU or even remotely close to the best at putting them in the league, just that we dont totally suck at putting WR's in the NFL. With our changing to a more prostyle offense I think our WR success in the NFL will go up.

I'm not here claiming that UF is WRU or anything of the sort. I'm also not here claiming that UF's passing offense is lighting up scoreboards.

I just think there are a few misconceptions:

1. That UF produces NO wr's and that somehow UT is a vastly superior option for a WR when it comes to choosing schools to get to the league. I don't think the stats back this up. You can ridicule the ability of the UF wr's in the league but that wasn't the point. I agree that UT's group is better than UF's as a whole...but I'd also say that Percy is the best of the bunch by a pretty wide margin (at least right now).

2. That UF's passing offense is vastly inferior to UT's. Again, I don't think the stats back that up. Last year that was certainly the case. But then again, UT had an NFL QB, 2 NFL WR's and an NFL TE....while UF had a 1st year starter at QB. This year I'd argue UF has a better passing offense (even though the running game is still the focal point) than UT. In the Miami game Driskel threw for nearly 300 yds, but of course the turnovers killed UF. Since Murphy took over the passing game has been efficient, but not explosive.

ive never heard of deonte thompson or david nelson. not kidding.

The FLA guys are arguing that they have now surpassed us for the title of WRU, and their mainstay is that they have more recievers on NFL rosters. We have players all over NFL rosters, so I guess that makes us EVERYPOSITIONU. Beat that slimeballs. ***sarcasm***

Not sure you wanna go there. I'm supremely confident FL has players all over NFL rosters as well. And I also haven't seen them argue they are WRU, just that they aren't chopped liver when it comes to putting WR's in the NFL.

I'd like to submit the following new nickname for consideration ...

UT = #NFLU

Better yet ProBowlU

what is going to kill us here is his last name is a TOWN in Florida. Game over.

edited for your viewing pleasure.

Thank you for making things much easier for my tiny and simple mind to handle (Note: this is also an obvious example of sarcasm, unlike your post.) Your post could be construed as trolling or ignorance, two very commonplace things around here.

Who is arguing that? Also, I'd venture to guess that UF has more total players in the NFL than UT.

****missed sarcasm as well**** please ignore

That's an amazing list. It's hard to believe we've put that many people in the league given our last 8 years. Check this out...

Florida

2005 9-3
2006 13-1
2007 9-4
2008 13-1
2009 13-1
2010 8-5
2011 7-6
2012 11-2
2013 3-1

UT

2005 5-6 Fulmer
2006 9-4 Fulmer
2007 10-4 Fulmer
2008 5-7 Fulmer
2009 7-6 Kiffin
2010 6-7 Dooley
2011 5-7 Dooley
2012 5-7 Dooley
2013 3-2 Butch

And we've put more guys in the NFL than FL. What does that tell me? We've had the players to win. We just haven't had the coaching. Let's hope Butch changes that for us.
