"It's Wide Receiver U," Lauderdale offered. "And, they're running a no-huddle offense this year. I saw what they did at Cincinnati, they threw the ball a lot and they're going to do the same thing. They'll probably have three or four receivers in the game and he said they want to get up to 90 plays a game."
Since visiting in June, Lauderdale has thought he wanted to be a Vol and although he wanted to check out other schools before making a public decision, his relationship with coach Jones won out.
"I've known where I wanted to go I was just trying to see what other schools were going to offer me and I know I'm probably going to get more offers during the season, but I already knew where I wanted to play," Lauderdale said. "I have a good relationship with coach Jones and at the end of the day I knew where I wanted to play. So I just went ahead and did it."
Lauderdale said he's grown close to Jones, a former wide receivers coach himself, during his recruitment and the first-year Volunteers head coach is one of the main reasons he wants to be in Knoxville.
"He's always told me he loved me," Lauderdale explained. "I told him I wanted to take some more visits when I was there last time and it was because I just wanted to see some different schools. I told him I was coming, just don't rush me. I guess he believed me because we talked every week and he just kept telling me he loved me and I was his number one target and so I did it today."
After recording 60 catches for 916 yards and seven touchdowns, Lauderdale knows other teams are likely to come after him with another stellar season but he believes he's found his next destination.
"It's just where I want to be because I've been thinking about it. I know that other schools are going to offer me but at the end of the day I want to play at Tennessee," Lauderdale said.
