'14 JUCO LB Chris Weatherd (UT Signee 2/5/14)

Vaginas because we don't have the same opinion that you do? LMMFAO.

Goat. Spot on.

Look, I'm just saying the kid should keep his word ... or not say it at all. It's the same thing I've told my own sons for nearly 20 years. There's nothing mean or malicious in that message. No backstabbing or nefarious intent. It's one of the 10 commandments of manhood in my family.

Final word: I hope the kid is a Vol. I think he has serious skills and I admire his heart.

Ya'll are crazy. I'd totally go to that game as well. If he likes it better - I hope he chooses aTm. 99% of people who compare college station with Knoxville are going to like Knoxville a heck of a lot better. Quit being so insecure.

All you have as a man, is your word. Show us what that means to you Chris. If I ever tell a man, that no matter what happens, I will be there, best believe I will be there. This shouldn't be an issue. He told "his" coach that he would be a vol. I hope he is

If I had the opportunity to go to a free ball game, I'd go in a heart beat. He's all Vol guys. No need to give yourselves heart attacks on this one.

If Weatherd comes back after his visit and says "yep, I felt I owed Coach Sumlin a face to face explanation why I am all Vol," I am going to laugh at every single one of you people going on about his integrity and "loss of trust." The kid gave his commitment to Butch, not a bunch of keyboard jockeys, so spare me the moaning about his so-called breach of trust.

Keep in mind, Butch's policy on visits after commitments: either they don't happen or the parties part ways. Since the visit is going forward immediately after a great visit with UT, smart money says Butch knows more about what's happening than anyone here. So please quit running the kid down when you don't have a clue about what's going on behind the scenes.

Wow this thread has gone full retard. How in the world you bunch of cliff divers came to be this kid's judge and jury over a few reporter quotes and without knowing context or what was said between him and Butch is incredible.

The kid will be a Vol or he won't. His choice, his life. Get the hell over yourselves.

I am not sure what's being said on twitter but it wouldn't bother me one bit to know he is reading this thread.

He needs to understand that saying one thing that is stated as an absolute and then less than 24hrs completely doing the opposite loses trust. It's a real life principal he needs to learn.

Thank God you are here to teach these kids a lesson. GMAFB.

mouhon and weatherd have tweeted about ya'll dumbasses. By all means, keep it up, and defend your actions.
You have ZERO idea of his talks with Butch last weekend, so stop.
Absolutely ridiculous.

I suppose if the Berry Bros go to a big game, we'll see you act like brave message board idiots as well?

Wow at this thread since last night. Move aside and let the man go through, let the man go through.

Ethan Wolfe visited Bama and came back and reconfirmed his commitment. Should we cut him loose too?

I would have been 100% fine with it if they had. That was my opinion when news came he took the trip to bama and I feel the same way now. Of course what the TE board then and the OLB board looks like now comes into play. If we did not have another TE high on the board when Ethan was looking around and or don't have another OLB high on our board who we could get to commit now maybe he can reconfirm his commitment before his spot is filled. Most seem to think the kids are NOT supposed to take visits after they hand in their brick. I say drop them like a bad habit if they do. If the coaches don't back up the talk with action, it's meaningless. JMO

This would make for an average recruiting class.

How so?

We have only had (2) recruits test the no visit after committing idea. Powell did and days later he was gone. Maybe Ethan's trip was always planned and the coaches were OK with it. Obviously Weatherd's trip was not a long planned ordeal. We lose Lee and add Powell. We lose Powell and it makes room for Malone.

Not sure where the idea of no visits after handing in your brick would make for an average class with how things look to be playing out. Could we find another capable OLB for the 2014 class? I think so.

A top rated JUCO OLB that can immediately contribute in the 2 deep or even start? Those don't grow on trees.

Wolf went on a visit. Weatherd is now. More will happen. The whole no visit thing idea was made up on here. I haven't seen anything suggesting it elsewhere.

I would treat them no different than a 3* kid ranked as the #94 kid at his position. A commitment is a commitment and should all be treated the same. JMO

I have said it all along. I am fine with kids taking the trips and having fun. Just do it BEFORE you decide to be a Vol. Once your a Vol, shut it down or I would be looking at other options.

Disclaimer : I don't know what he and Butch have talked about in private. Perhaps butch told him he was ok to go to college station. Who knows?

But to make a societal point:
This whole "the kid is a kid; its ok for him to lie." Or " what do you expect? He's an 18 year old kid". Or worse, the statements "I would do it too"

Part of what's wrong with the moral state of the country. People get passes for made up reasons and accepted excuses. Responsibility is not expected. It's encouraged to do whatever you want, whatever feels good to you and then say "you can't judge me".

So someone says something then shirks that later on, especially a day after? And that's ok because he's a kid? Maybe so if by kid you mean a 6-8 year old kid. But when you get to the age of knowing right and wrong. And understanding that you should do what you say and not do what you say you won't, then carry through and be honest. Our nation needs a rebirth of responsibility and honesty in a big way.

Agreed if there wasn't anything else big going on for him but he has a game on Saturday that he should be attending supporting his teamates.

Did he miss his game last weekend as well??

I bet it's because his real love is volleyball.

Great post.

Oh and you people saying "I'm a vol fan and I would do it too" need a vol card check.

Their game is the same time as the Big Orange game. I would not take free tickets to see the bama game over watching my vols.
