'14 JUCO DT Davonte Lambert (Auburn Commit 12/18/13)

Kind of funny if you look at what 247 just did. The DT commitment AU just got was unrated. He commits to AU and they rank him the #5 Juco DT and make him a 4 star. No other offers. No other visits. Automatic 4 star.

247 making it obvious that their rankings have credibility issues.

I think AU got Bradley and UGA got Johnson. Had we pushed and kept on them, I think we could have had both. I think the Carl Lawson love may have hurt us with those 2. Also losing the GA did not help. There were ACL concerns with Johnson. He looks good to go for UGA now. I saw a video of him the other day on their campus doing backflips at over 300lbs.

Not giving Staley a full time job was the issue. We did not pass. Staley and hinshaw were only reasons they were on lock before

Their "National Recruiting Analyst" with focus with the SEC runs the Vandy247 Board. That speaks volumes. They lost a lot of their expertise when Bobby Burton begin to focus nearly all his effort on the Texas247 site.

"They're definitely in my top [group]," Lambert said Sunday. "It was pretty good. Felt like I was at home. I liked the coaches and the players. It was unbelievable coming here and being able to bond with the players on the first day. I really loved it."

"It really helped Auburn," he said. "As far as knowing the coaches and getting to know the players. I didn't know anything about Auburn until I came. It kind of showed me the tradition they have and everything."

On Sunday, Lambert said he likes the plan Auburn has laid out for him.

"Coach [Rodney] Garner, he's going to play me at defensive end and three-technique, kind of moving me around on the defensive line," Lambert said. "I really love it because it shows my athleticism. It shows coaches and scouts what type of player I am."

Garner seemed to make a strong impression on Lambert.

"I really like Coach Garner," Lambert said. "He treated me just like a son. That's real special to have a coach treat you like family."

As of now, Lambert said he does not have any future visits scheduled.

He said he'd like to pick a college in August before his season starts.

yep he is 100% back. he will be starting practice without any limitations in a few weeks. the video of toby doing a backflip at his size was something.

I'll believe 100% when he shows it on the field, but I'm glad the treatment process is over for him.

Seems we will have a pretty good idea of how DT recruiting will shake out in August. Lambert, Barnett, Lamin, and Humphreys have all said they will decide in August or before. Not sure about Williams, Mosley, and Ford.

Conveniently left this part out.

When asked about other schools, Lambert mentioned Florida and Tennessee.
