I didn't take what he said to mean the way u r taken it...that being said we are not recruiting for youth choir....let's get him CDT
Well, like I said, he's making his own bed now. Maybe Ellis has turned it all around, and I said that may be the case from the very beginning. In any case, we all heard what DT said, and now we will see if his risk/reward kids pay off or haunt him.
Agree.
Like I said at the time, based on a few things I get the impression he's a bit disingenuous, which as I also said isn't necessarily a horrible thing. The catch is you better win if you're gonna do things like that, you do and all is well, but if you lose those things are magnified.
Doesn't it remind you of someone? Seriously, I learned after a few terrible coaches at UT that you have to play the game in college basketball to succeed (i.e. recruiting, PR, considering exceptions). The more I hear about him, the more he reminds me of you know who. If he wins like him, then everyone will be happy.
Agree.

Dirty Donnie Knoxville - IMO I believe he will do things his way and he really does not care what anyone else thinks. His job is to win games and if he wins no one will really care about anything else. If he loses, well he would have been gone anyways.
BTW in calling him Dirty Donnie Knoxville, I am not saying he is a cheater or even dishonest. He just seems to me to be a guy who is willing to do the dirty work and he is not afraid to step on people's toes. I think he is not afraid to roll the dice and take a chance on players others might pass on.
I don't have an issue with it, didn't have much of an issue with Pearl doing it, just don't f*** up and get caught is all I ask lol.
On that same subject, it's why I want Tyndall to look at Devonta Pollard. Former 5* MCDAA who is an athletic freak. Went to Bama and got into some trouble, found himself in a bad spot and ended up having to testify against his mother to keep himself out of too much trouble. Anyways, played JUCO last year and seems to have stayed out of trouble since.
Is he a risk? Absolutely. However, he was being recruited Kentucky and Troy primarily, which means Cal is obviously willing to do the dirty work as we all know. Go sell him on coming here and making the NBA, and all of a sudden this roster goes from looking like a CBI team if lucky, to NCAAT team (assuming you add the other pieces) IMO.
Agree with you on Pollard. This is big boy basketball and no reason to be tentative. I hope CDT will be aggressive and take some risks. Again I do not want a cheater, but Cal, Coach K, and even Coach Pat Summitt did not succeed by playing nice.

Being the parent of an addict x-con that finally made it, I salute anyone that is willing to help a kid like this turn his life around and get on track.
If Donnie can do it I'm all in.
Those that oppose are usually bible thumping hypocrites; in my experience anyway.
Your definition of struggling must be different than mine!Getting academically eligible for an SEC school doesn't necessarily mean his grades are poor. He may very well not have the stupid math class that the SEC requires JUCO's to have in order to transfer in. I doubt anyone knows his grades due to privacy laws. Professors or coaches are not out there telling random folks like Hubbs just so he can go back and blast it all over the internet. At least I sure hope not. Athletes' grades should be kept private especially in a situation where one is struggling.
How true. I remember Pat was accused of "poaching" a lot early in her career as player after player from lower division schools found their way to Knoxville as transfers. She also ran off at least a couple of girls a year for many years.
Agree.
