'14 GA CB D.J. Smith

Looking like he's South Carolina's to lose at this point? I was really excited when we appeared to be in the lead for him, it would have been nice to have a CB with his height. Not really sure what happened for us to lose so much ground so quickly...

so how many of the 25 or 30 very good players had UT ranked 1 or 2 mostly 1 and now a dozen or more I know everyone said vols were 1 but 5 or 6 weeks later all those talented dbs that decided we wasn't number 1 after all.

Can anyone dig up a pic of him at dawgnight? Apparently he was in orange, but no one knows if it was Clemson or UT.

Edit found it, definitely Clemson orange.

“It’s probably still the same -- Tennessee, Clemson and South Carolina, I’m feeling them a lot right now,” Smith said. “Georgia, yeah, and Florida, of course, still.”*

“I’m not really worried about it. I just want to worry about it after the season,” Smith said.*

Who’s recruiting him the hardest?*

“Tennessee, South Carolina and Clemson.”*

I wouldn't even take his recruitment too serious until October or so. We are definitely still in it

This guy, Gaulden, and a Berry would seem to close out DB positions very nicely. While it seems Clemson leads, which is never a good thing in recruiting Georgia kids, Smith seems like a real possibility and may get UT back to having devastating secondaries like it seemed was our birthright for well over a decade.

I don't think we are out of it just yet there was a lot of rumblings on volquest. about South Carolina taking a corner commitment and that they might be done at corner. I think once he takes an official here I think that he will be all VOL.
