'14 GA CB D.J. Smith

This may be a question for Ron or someone who has inside info but how does our board look on DBs? Who's at the top and how does the order go from there?

Safety position is McDowell, Gaulden (tweener), and Evan Berry, unless he is offense.

Corner is Tabor, Jackson, Smith, Green, Truitt

At least it seems this way

This is a spot on assessment from what I have been told. Although Tabor is not really an option anymore. Look for Funderburk to hear a little more chatter. And Evan will stay on the defensive side of the ball along with Elliott

Evan said he wants to play WR. It's not speculation or anything.

I’m not sure how I forgot Payne was already committed. By my calculations, there’s only three spots left in the secondary. That sounds like a lot, but there will only be three Seniors in the whole DB group, and no corners who are classified as Junior.

Still, a player from this class could be starting in 2015.

Justin Coleman is a JR

He has expressed interest in playing WR in college and I have been told that the coaches would entertain the idea of using him there but would like to keep him on the defensive side of the ball.

Good thing you cleared that up.

i think since we are in a numbers crunch, as soon as we get 1 more DB commit, the rest will start jumping onboard to make sure they secure their spots

I have no clue who you are...

I know you dont nor do I have any clue who you are. I am not trying to be a smart a$$ or anything so i do not want to be taken as that. Sorry if I offended you i just like to pass infp along that I may receive. Sorry man

I agree. This could get really interesting because we've got interest to some degree from about 8 guys who are the type of player you make room for.

Jackson, Tabor, Gaulden, Truitt, DJ Smith, Green, and McDowell are all excellent players.

Out of those, I say Gaulden is the most definite lock. I don't think we will get Tabor. Jackson would be HUGE but I'm not in a position to say one way or another. Truitt will be a vol just not a DB (IIRC). McDowell seems high on us but again, not in a position to say. Between Smith and Green, I'd prefer Green. JMO.

Both starting CBs are juniors. Jones and Coleman are third year players.

2014. When Jones, Coleman, and Toney will be Seniors. I guess I wasn’t as obvious as I thought I was being. Sorry for the confusion.

So youre telling me there's a possibility of Berry meeting Berry over the middle....?

ESPN's Hot Board prediction to UT.

If signing day were today, the Vols would be in great shape to land the versatile ESPN 150 cornerback, who has visited Knoxville several times already. But Smith is in no rush, so Georgia, Arkansas and Florida will have a chance to impress him as well.
