Some film:

Also a cane board eval of him after their June 8th camp

**Deerfield Beach ATH Brandon Powell was putting on a clinic in one-on-ones. None of the DBs could cover him and his cuts are vicious. Looks like a Miami-caliber slot guy and would be dangerous as a supplement to the other weapons the offense has added over the past few years.

"Off the phone with Powell....

He is really excited and says that he felt so comfortable with the other 2014 commitments. Credit goes to Azzanni who did a very nice job with Powell. Story is coming. Happy Fathers Day everybody."

Sun sentinel article excerpt:

DEERFIELD BEACH – After Deerfield Beach's 2012 football season ended, running back Brandon "BP" Powell said, he started working with local trainer Tony Sands on his speed.

Most mornings before school, they met at 4:30 a.m. at Fort Lauderdale's Carter Park and focused on improving his explosiveness on his starts.

Consequently, Powell and Deerfield Beach coach Allen Jackson noted, his time in the 40-yard dash has dropped from the 4.5s last season to 4.4 this spring. Powell said he is working toward getting down to 4.3.

"I was thinking too much last year. But now this year I've gotten faster and stronger and I'm just hitting the holes quicker and everything," Powell said.

I think Powell took the last RB slot even though he may end up at slot WR.

"I'm really excited," Powell said. "Everything just felt comfortable with the other 14' recruits and the coaches were great. I like how they had high energy and they are all really cool."

"The stadium was the biggest I've ever seen," Powell said. "It's crazy how many people they can get in there and coach Jones told me about the fans on gameday is amazing. He told me about the Vol Navy and the Vol Walk. I can't wait to come back for a game this fall."

"He's tells you everything that's true and he keeps it real with you," Powell said. "He's just a really cool coach. I also like coach Jones because he loves his players. He takes time to get to know everyone. It's just a great situation."

"I just feel like I can do a lot with the ball in my hands in open space," Powell said. "Tennessee wants me in the slot and they showed me how they would use me. I'm really impressed with their spread offense. It's high tempo and that's something I like."

"Everything is over with now," Powell said. "It's the place I want to be and I don't need to see any more schools."
