I think Ill be down there (at Tennessee) on Sunday, said Jackson, whos ranked the nations No. 9 overall prospect in the 247Composite, which equally weighs prospect rankings and ratings from major recruiting media outlets.
I dont know for sure (when), but I know over the weekend Ill be down there, for sure.
This is going to be my first time actually getting back into my recruitment, so Im going to need to start getting my list down, narrowing it down and separating whos in the top, whos getting hot, whos getting cold stuff like that so Ive just got to try to go on some visits and talk to the coaches, Jackson said.
For me, Ive got 12 (teams standing out), but I plan on getting it to six, probably. It will be probably once the season starts, probably in September, before I can get my official visits set out, and Ill probably be getting everything together by then.
Why he likes TN
For me, its close to home and close to my family, so they can get down there in a quick second to come watch me play or come visit me and stuff like that instead of them having to go somewhere pretty far, said Jackson, who claims more than 25 offers to date.
And its a great program in the SEC.
On Butch and Willie recruiting him.
Theyre basically just talking to me about being a dominant player, just going in offensively, defensively and on special teams and all that (and running) track as well so thats why I have to actually get down there and discuss it and see whats real and whats not, Jackson said.
On what Track means to him.
I dont really know too much about (Tennessees track program), Jackson said, so when I go down there, I want to get a lot of information about it.
On position.
a lot of schools now are talking more about offense, considering the possibility of getting the ball in his hands as a wide receiver and return specialist.
I dont know right now whether I want to play offense whether I want to put on a show and try to get the band playing or play defense, lock it up and have my own island, said Jackson, whos currently not planning to announce his college choice until signing day.
Theres not that many good (defensive backs) out there. It just depends on whats best for me at that particular school. Whatever they most need me to do, thats what Im going to do.
