'14 AL RB Racean Thomas

So your point is you should do whatever it takes whether it's the right thing to do or not and that's the only way to win?

Within the rules, yes do whatever you have to do. It's a dirty game and only the strong survive. I give you a free education as an athlete you should perform. That's the way it's handled. Hate to say it but it's cold like that in the college football world.

Now back to Rock Thomas, I don't think he would want to sit behind Gurley, Marshall, and Turman compared to Auburn's depth chart. Don't know why he is looking at Hurd and Paulk as hurdles at UT, he would play early at UT.

Hubbs thinks it will be difficult to get another RB.

Meanwhile, another 5 star RB committed to play with 10 other 5 star RBs at Alabama. If we prove that we can run the ball this season, we'll get another if we want.

have success running the ball is reason #4 why Tide can sign the RB the want. Behind winning, NFL factory and IGF-1.

Yeah they should earn it but who's to say they arent? Whats the barometer for that? If they are giving you all they have on the field and in the classroom they are earning it IMO. Just because they dont get the playing time in games doesnt mean they dont go to practice every day and bust their tail like everyone else. Some people are just more athletically gifted and its the staffs job to evaluate talent. They should have to honor the scholarship all 4 yrs or like TW said, they should be able to transfer with no penalty, but also should be able to transfer whereever they want. They shouldnt be coaxed into getting a medical hardship.

I agree they should be able to transfer without penalty. You cant just medical hardship now because of the new rule in place but I still believe a coach shouldnt just be stuck with a player that doesnt pan out. Players should live up to a certain standard. Academic scholarship kids have to dont they?

Gurley and Marshall will probably be gone after their JR year so he would be a soph when they left. He knows that. Thats why UGA is in it.

Who does UT have that can keep him from starting Day 1? He'll be pushing for that No.1 spot Day 1 at UT. His pass catching skills are something people don't know a lot about.

If players have to sit out a year before transferring, coaches should have to give kids a year's notice before giving them a boot.

It's hard to sell being "the guy" when you have a five star running back committed. That might be the problem.

Some people just don't see the bigger picture. There are several reasons why Bama can pull who they do. The RB position, of course, stands out, but it's not just the RB position.

I thought everyone was in agreement that elite backs want to be with other elite backs to share the work load?? Thats the way it seemed last month. In that theory we should have our pick for the 3 rd back of this class.

He actually shouldn't worry about anybody else in this class at RB.

It's one thing to have 3 or 4 stud RB on the roster with a class or two separating them , but it's another thing to have 3 in the same class. Bama has a system that hasn't changed. They rotate backs so it's no sale job to recruits.

see the problem i have with it is that if a player is giving it everything hes got....putting in the extra hours, has a good gpa, etc. Its not his fault he didnt pan out....he did his part. the coaches didnt when they were evaluating. with that said, that all boils back down to the transfer rule. If they make it where they can transfer without penalty under any circumstances and can only transfer to schools in the same conference if their old school gives them the boot, than it is what it is and would at least be more fair than what it is now

Yep, but it's pretty much a given that UGA will have a 5 star as well. Not sure why this kid wouldn't want to share the load. It's the new thing (see bama and ga) and nfl prospects go up with less miles on the tires.

He might as well commit to AU because he won't be number one on bama or ga board. Michel and Chubb/Choice are going to UGA and Bama has Bo. Sorry bama guys, LF will not leave his state.

According to Bama poster on Rivals Main Board, former 5 Star RB Dee Hart is moving to CB. Hart does not fit Bama CB profile but Saban need RB spots I guess.

Bo isn't even going to play RB. He's said it himself.

I know, this is where being new backfires on a staff. We can't show we've rotated backs with success in this league yet.

I love your intrepetations but it actually comes from different paysites that Hart may move to DB. It has nothing to do with needing RB spots but depth at CB. Cyrus and Christion Jones are practicing at DB as well. Both of who played on offense last year. Christion Jones has been a WR for UA since he got to UA and Cyrus was a slot WR.

Also Hart is still in a non-contact jersey because of the 2nd knee surgery. UIA has 4 scholarship RBs on campus(5 if you count Fowler who is going to be a HB/FB). Yeldon, Drake and Henry are healthy, Fowler and Hart are still recovering from injuries.
