'13 VA RB Derrick Green (Michigan commit)

NO WAY! You guys will see. Against top competition he does Nothing. He looks great against those scrub teams you see on his highlight tapes but when he plays top D's like he will in the SEC he doesnt come through. Not even the best back in the region. No way hes the best in the Nation. Read My post on Paul Robertson. I hear DG is a great kid with good grades and I wish him well but I just dont want the kid in Orange. He is more of a ACC kid. Hell the Big 10 will wear him out with their LB play.

I don't know..... if we can take 2 RB's this year D. Green and your guy. If we only get 1 I am sticking with Green!

I have heard some describe him closer to Jabari Davis. We will have to wait and see. UT will take 2 backs in this class, and frankly I would take 2 a year until I found SEC backs like I saw in Atlanta yesterday.

UT should've been after 3 backs this year. We have nothing on the roster even close to what I saw in the SECCG yesterday. Neal is solid but he doesn't break enough tackles for my taste. Lane is inconsistent as a runner. I like Watson's potential out of any other options we have(and he's small).

Yea I don't want a guy who will run you over and then out run everybody else... Yea he is just a good kid with good grades who won't get arrested or suspended and has a great work ethic... Those aren't the type of guys we are use to having at Tennessee that's probably why you don't want him.

Coming out of college BB was not 225. And DG is 4.4 right?

Edit:DG is -4.4 and bigger than BB was coming out of college

He's not the runner that Brown is man. Brown has elite ability as a runner. Think about what you're seeing out of Brown and he didn't play but a year of college ball. The two aren't close IMO. Doesn't mean Green isn't good just that Brown is a special back.

I could care less about comparing their weight. BB is faster, and a more dynamic runner. Two different running styles. That being said, we need a runner like DG in orange. We needed DG and Turman, who I think is on the same level as Green. Maybe better.IMO.

Never said he was, just comparing measurables and attitude.

Why do you think he's faster?

Green No. 14 in new Rivals rankings.

Only playing the first half of most games because of blowouts, Green amassed 1,350 yards and 21 touchdowns as a senior.

Jones said in the press conference he likes to run the football. I say we land Green, and possibly a few other good backs this class.

All you have to do is watch players like Pead, Abernathy, and Wynn to know that he meant it.
