If someone told me Dooley would pull Da'Rick I would say he is crazy.

Butch, not so sure I would be surprised. He is fired up, ready to go, and has the winning history to prove it, that will go a long way. Can't negative recruit against a guy who won conference championships 4 out of 6 years.

UT does sell it's self well. But to me it thats a good recruiter to sell UT right now because of how bad we've been latly but the new $50million sports complex sure does help. Its not the Georgia souths and arkons hes competing with for recruits now. Just like dooley proved anyone can pull in a 15-25 ranked class any year at UTK depending the talent level of TN and mid to upper GA that year but when our rivals are always in the top 5 it's hard to bridge the gap.

Tradition doesn't matter right now.

I hope jones pull in a top 10 class but i would be shocked to see it get to 15.

By the way i think the hurry up offense with a power running game and DT QB would really give the defenses that adjust every play (bama) a hard time.

If we can get 8 wins next year he'll pull in a good class next year and be ready for the berry twins.

we also had to bring rogers QB buddy with him as a package deal. i'm sorry for the last 3 years UT hasn't been selling much of anything. i'm not saying you are wrong maybe jones will tear it up, but i would be really surprised. our program doesn't have the luster it used to.

I agree with you on the "UT hasn't been selling much of anything" idea, but that may be because our salesman was worried more about showering than football

the fact that North, Green are interested in UT despite a coaching change, must mean they enjoyed the facilities right? Because both commented on how spectacular they were, and the fact that the school has had a great tradition. We have a ton to sell if the salesmen opens the briefcase and looks at what he has to offer. Problem is we had a lazy salesmen for 3 years.

I think rather than Lazy, Arrogant better describes Dooley's efforts

You cant do the things Saban does if you dont have his pedigree.

It's our understanding that Coach Jones reached out to Derrick Green and Marquez North. Tennessee's need for a top tier running back and wide receiver is no secret and obviously he has made them an early priority.

Hey, even if the only stars he got were Woulard, Green, North, and the 4 stars we already have committed, I'm pleased.

Jones is the type that he's not going to be able to hot sauce recruit. He's a no name right now to many, and it will be only through the formation of relationships that he does well.

Hopefully, by keeping Graham, we can still get North and Green.

With Gruden or strong I would be expecting more but I would be happy with North, Green, Woulard, Von bell, and keep the recruits we already have. Anything after that is a bonus. But even dooley was able to work wonders before his first season so lets see how it goes.

I agree. Talked about this very topic multiple times with people. Dude was not personable, and I really think it was due to his arrogance.

Jones seems to be a great salesman. if he can get one of the big targets, it will generate some needed buzz.

Unfortunate Pittman can't stay , but that's the business . O-line has a ton of respect for that guy. I think in my opinion you have to get one of either Tee or Hinshaw on the staff.
