'13 VA RB Derrick Green (Michigan commit)

Any chance some knowledgeable poster could summarize where we stand with DG at this point considering Henry's announcement? Sorry, I am at work and cannot take the time to read through the 129 pages for a simple recruiting status update.

That said, It does seem to me that Green has the propensity to make an immediate impact should he choose the Vols.

If we finish the season at 8-4, will Bray really be rated high enough to warrant an early departure (i.e. 1st or 2nd round) after this season? I have no clue where he projects, so SIA if this is a stupid question. Just seems like many are assuming he is leaving as a foregone conclusion already. I could completely see JH jumping and possibly CP depending on how the rest of his season shakes out. CP and JH both have super star potential written all over them, barring injury or complete mental breakdown of course.

GO VOLS!!!!

Just keep watching against SEC teams. You'll get the idea. We've played 2 high school teams, a weak NC State team, and a slightly above average Florida defense.

Any argument you were trying to make went down the toilet when you called UF's defense 'slightly above average'.

I'm sorry but I find very amusing those who believe this..... We'll see how ya feel about that statement as the year progresses..

I think we stand really well with Green as of right now, after what "Tiny" Richardson had to say to him after the Florida game. BUT I personally believe that we have to win at least 8 games or Dooley is gone. I don't want this to happen at all because it will affect our recruitment and you will have several juniors go pro (Bray,Hunter, and CP) even if they aren't NFL ready. I think CP goes early regardless because it was such a struggle for him to make it to the D1 level anyways. I've said all along that we must win 2 out of 4 big games (Florida,Georgia,Alabama, and South Carolina) for Dooley to stay and we've already gave one up.

Where does everyone get such confidence that we lead with him?

Because he had a great visit over UF weekend and his family loves UT. We have a lot going in our favor. Playing time, tradition, distance, and he loves coach Graham.

If we win 8 or 9 games, which I think we can/should, we get Green.

fyp...

Same place they did with Henry and we see how that went.

You just never know.

Huh? Hubbs and co. said for a long time Bama led for Henry. They never wavered on that. Hubbs has said it was a UT/Michigan battle for Green for a while and now after his OV they are saying UT leads. Green and his family love UT.

Don't confuse VQ mods with VQ random posters.

Would you compare Florida's D to Bama's or LSU D?

Yes the Florida squad is the fastest of the bunch. Want to see UGA's D at full strength. They're top flight too when they're all playing. Those are the 4 best defenses in the country. People need to watch how Florida plays after shutting down a good offense like ours late.

The CBs for Florida will really start to play with an edge after battling CP and JH11. I could see their demeanor change as the game went on. Confidence and talent is a very dangerous thing. I'm excited to watch those guys grow.
