Green was hosted by Curt Maggitt and A.J. Johnson and arrived Saturday morning.
"They were both good guys, they spoke highly of the program and A.J. is just a huge linebacker," said Green. "I thought the team played hard until the end which was important to me. The loss didn't matter to me, it was more about seeing how they use the running back, how hard they play and if they need help at my position."
"I like the way they use their backs, they have a lot of inside runs but they also throw a lot of screen passes," he said. "They need a running back, that's what the coaches told me. I talked to coach Dooley and Graham about that and they said they need a big, power back to make a difference."
And perhaps no one made a bigger impact on Green then offensive tackle Antonio Richardson, a sophomore standout for the Vols.
"They had just lost the game, it was a tough defeat and they played their hearts out but he took the time to pull me aside right afterwards," Green explained. "He told me what they were trying to build there, how important I was to their future and how much he wanted to block for me. It was a great speech honestly, I was really honored. To do that for a recruit after a tough loss was amazing."
"It's the depth chart," he said. "I want to go to a school that needs a big running back to play right away." -Mike Farrell
UT will still beat Akron, Troy, and UK. UT should still beat Vanderbilt. UT has toss-ups against Mississippi State (best win is Auburn and Auburn is terrible) and Missouri. UT could beat UGA or SC (more likely SC). UT should lose to Bama. If UT only wins the will and should win games and splits the toss-ups, that would be 7-5. I think UF is actually pretty good and UT will probably beat MSU and Missouri and maybe pull one good win against UGA or SC for 8-4 or 9-3.
The UF loss sucks but it hasn't ended the season. The fans around here act like losing to UF is as bad as losing to UK last year and it is not. Fans need to come to grips with the fact that they made it sound like UT was going to whip UF and this delusion is responsible for the current backlash. UT is still a decent football team and losing to UF has happened many times before and UT went on to have good seasons. Yes, UT is not as good as we want them to be and another loss to UF is a gut punch but they are decent and I think they will still win some games unless they give-up like some of the fans on here. I pray to god they have more fight than that.
I don't do a lot of posting. However, when I get real concerned I really do not mind throwing my two cents worth into the mix. I really hate to see all the negavols start the get rid of Dooley threads and who will be out next coach. All this does is hurt recruiting . It makes possible recruits start wondering. Let the people in charge do the hiring and firing.

Just watched Green's highlights, and he's what we're missing, I really think.
He's an absolute bull of a running back. Really fast for such a big guy, hits the hole hard as sh!t. No BS, just runs through you.
I noticed he doesn't cut very often, not that he has to, though. It's not his style.
I kind of get an Ahman Green vibe from him.
SIAP but has anyone seen the hit he puts on the Db at the :37 mark? just saw it. nice!!
