Call me crazy but this roster looks weak by SEC standards. We're going to be in for a long season I am afraid.

You're crazy!

J/k

But really, I'm not putting much stock in this. For instance..... Jaq Smith at SDE, Walls and C. Miller at WDE? Seems backwards to me. I think J. Williams can play both WDE or SDE.

I'm no college coach, would try my best to get fired for the buyout if I were...I swear. But if I were, I would wear opposing LTs to a frazzle with J. Smith, D.Vereen, and L. Lewis

It's not weak. There's just some young guys on this team that haven't played alot. For example, Williams,Vereen,Lewis,Mcneil could all be really good for us. There's some older guys who are really talented that have had new coaches every year. Its also a matter of developing a winning mindset and not to fold up at the first sign of adversity. I think there's more talent than given credit for. It will just need to grow up fast.

we may win 5,we may win 8,but #117 won't quit...I feel pretty certain in that...
and that cluster**** we saw on D won't happen either
now that Buddy Hackett and his version of the 3-4 is coaching at FSU...

Most teams have lots of holes right now... even those expected to do well. USCe is filling some major holes. UGA replaces almost their whole D. UF lost some guys.

Very few programs just reload like Bama and LSU do right now.

This season comes down to coaching for UT. We will see right away how good these guys are.

Hear, hear

I love when the same folks who cringe and moan over our local kids go nuts and brag when we get guys like Tom Smith.

Not sure anyone went nuts over Tom Smith, but I believe everyone expected a bit more from him than this.... (not even getting a carry in the O&W game as a junior). :ermm:

Why so frightened little champion? It's just big boy football! Get convicted of a crime you didn't commit, go to prison and try to take a shower....then be afraid!!!! :eek:hmy::nono::scare::scare::scare::aggressive: :acute:

doubt this is how it plays out. no way sapp starts over a healthy maggitt. also dont think bmoore wont be starting after all hes done for the team as a leader.

When Maggitt is back healthy, Brewer will be the one to sit not Sapp. Starting 3 LB's (if healthy) will be Sapp, AJJ, Maggitt.

I told you all during Spring Practice that it was unlikely that Maggitt would be back based on what he told me. Most of you all shrugged it off, and like most of you I want him on the field, but he told me if he isn't 100% healthy he would not get on the field and possibly put himself at further risk. I think he plays this year, but we really don't need him for the first couple of games anyways.

This is how I see it . Sapp has really came on strong. I watched the O/W game again the other night. The 3 things that kept jumping out at me were:

1) Sapp was all over the place
2) Vereen and LaTroy. Defenses are really gonna struggle with these dudes in the future.
3) it just felt good to see us take the field in the 40 defense. Really good.

Maggitt will be playing in 2 days. He is #2 on the depth chart because he didn't play in the spring. He may not be 100% yet, but he is playing.
