'13 TN RB Cornelius Elder

I hope we can land this kid. I wouldn't mind seing him play for Cuanzo on the bball court either, just get him in orange and white please.

He needs to stick to football. Small PG's don't cut it in big boy Hoops.

Would be a big statement in recruiting the state of Tennessee to get this kid. Would send message to other elite Tennessee athletes that it is now cool to go to Tennessee again.

Just hope it isn't to late now and the kid will want to stay in Tennessee and play for his home town crowd. I would love to have a roster littered with quick, fast guys who can just cause mayhem for a defense.

While I agree he is a great high school player, there's a lot to consider here. he's always been more interested in basketball, and no guarantee football is where he ends up. I think he should play football but I ain't him.
He's also had some injury issues--nothing too significant but he's been banged up a good bit. His size could be a concern to some coaches.

Banged up a good bit? I have seen this kid play since middle school and can remember a grand total of a single game that he left with an injury (State championship game his junior year when he went out with a high ankle sprain - was playing basketball at an extremely high level not too long afterwards). I cannot recall him missing a single game, or even series, either offensive or defensive, in his four years of high school ball (football and basketball) other than that. Why you feel you gotta make negative stuff up about a great kid? He is probably not gonna be a Vol, but that don't give you an excuse for misrepresenting the kid's heart.

I'm not making up anything negative. Didn't say a dang thing about his heart. I hope he is a Vol. I was just responding to those who couldn't understand why he hadn't been more actively recruited before. Quit reading stuff into my posts. I saw him play numerous times and, as I said, nothing significant but he missed several games his sophmore and junior years. You clearly are looking for a fight where none exists.

Yeah too late in the game IMO. But you never know if you don't try so if nothing comes of the offer, I applaud the coaching staff's effort to pursue him.

Never know James Stone wasn't going to give us a second look with Kiffin there but when Dooley came aboard he got him at the last minuet. So maybe it will work again with this staff.

Read my lips - the ONLY game he missed due to injury his sophomore and junior years was the State championship game his junior year (he sprained his ankle after two carries). I am not looking for a fight, but I simply cannot understand why you insist on making up stuff about a kid. Sad, imho.

From AU Rivals -

Auburn offered Elder on Tuesday. Elder is uncommitted and currently favors UCLA and Ohio State. Sources indicate, however, that Elder will seriously consider an official visit before signing day.
