"I want to get a scholarship. That's my dream. That's my goal, and I have a chip on my shoulder to prove people wrong," said High. "Even though I'm 6 feet (tall), I can still get the job done."
"(Tennessee coaches) straight-up told me that if I walked on, they'd give me a true shot at it, and I believed them. I decided to walk on at UT," said High.
"I'm going to do my best (at Tennessee). I'm going to try," said High. "And if it doesn't work out, I can always go down to I-AA. Coach Brown said he'd love to have me, even if I went to UT and decided to transfer. He said he'd be OK with that.
"I didn't want to go to Tennessee Tech and always wonder, 'What if I went to UT? What if I tried that?'"
While I really appreciate that someone like Charlie wants to play for the Vols with all their heart, the bottom line is that he just does not have the physical tools to be a major college player, much less an SEC player, at QB. At least we aren't wasting a scholly here. We're not losing anything by having him walk on.
Who knows perhaps he can develop himself enough physically, to be able to play another position. If not he can always play on the scout team.
