'13 TN OL Brett Kendrick (UT Commit)

Hard to put a lot of stock in any of our coaches when you see 5 years of suckage. Thing is I don't pretend to know the intricate details as to why some of these guys pass or go after other prospects. Personally, I don't think a lot of other posters do either. I go by what I see and the tidbits of info I get from credible sources (Skeet, Volquest reporters, etc.)

And what I see is a coach use to playing with 3 star talent using the system nonsense to tell talented O-linemen to look elsewhere. I'm all about giving CBJ a chance, but it's decisions like the Koehler one that makes one raise an eyebrow. These are the types of decisions a person can point back at if CBJ can't turn this around for us.

He didn't tell Koehler to look elsewhere.

Hubbs disagreed. I'll take Hubbs and common sense over an anonymous poster.

Anonymous poster being Kendrick's brother? Don't know if he is or isn't, but he has lobbied pretty hard for his brother on this site. He also seems to have intricate details of his brother's HS games, camp activity, etc. I know there are a lot of poser's on this site, but Kendrick's brother has given me no reason to think he is a poser.

And I would imagine a lot of recruits who camp together and what not more than likely stay in touch and share what is going on with their recruitment seeing as though they are in the same boat. Evidence supports that CBJ told Koehler to look elsewhere.

Sure - gruden and tee are still coming too.

I absolutely love this commit. He fits our new offensive line philosophy. If the O-Line coach stays, this guy is a draft pick in 5 years.

I guess you can lean on those examples if you would like. But to think that potential recruits and their family don't use social media is being less than honest with yourself.

Why would this guy pose as a fairly unknown local O-lineman's brother to gain e-cred? Why not act like 'Kohler's uncle' or something instead? Guess it fits your flimsy argument, so whatever works.

Besides there is a difference between getting all starry eyed over some coaches that could have injected some life back in this program and keeping it real as to when coaches apparently pull the 'you don't fit our system' card. Remember Kiffin with Taji Boyd? How did that work out for us?

Yeah, I'm sure that somebody that has been a member for four years, and only has 63 posts all but one of which being on CAK players, and has consistently given us info on Brett way before Hubbs is trolling . Don't you think if he was going to troll the board he would have done it before this year?

People do all kinds of crazy stuff. I know recruits and their family are on here. That's why I don't typically speculate on who's going to get dropped, and I rarely criticize commits or potential commits. But I've seen enough people get trolled to where I'm skeptical of anyone claiming to bring that kind of info to the board.

Even if the poster is Kendrick's brother, his post never said anything about scheme. That's entirely you and other posters creating a narrative based on your own biases and assumptions (likely stupid ones since you think zone blocking is gimmicky). It makes just as much sense that the staff rates someone higher, they have a different evaluation, or they think he's a transfer risk since he lives in Hawaii. Or maybe Koehler feels more comfortable with Pittman and Chaney than UT and Butch Jones. Others could probably with competing potential reasons why Koehler might not end up in UT's class.

Either way, I'm willing on something more solid before I make conclusions.

Brett Kendrick, OL, Knoxville (Tenn.) Christian Academy

Kendrick, 6-5, 295, is still committed to Tennessee, but an Arkansas offer from former UT coaches Sam Pittman and Jim Chaney has the three-star guard planning to visit Fayetteville next month.

Kendrick said on Saturday that he and Pittman have a great relationship and that he was one of the first prospects the new Razorback offensive line coach reached out to last week. The lineman said it would take "a lot" for him to switch from the hometown Vols to the Hogs, but he's willing to check things out with an open mind.

Kid should be careful IMO. Shopping yourself around this late in the game can turn out to be a bad idea. Morris and Wiseman are 2 very possible guys on the OL we could end up taking. JMO

Yep. If the staff was considering parting ways but was reluctant because of him being a local player, this gives them a reason to move in another direction.

Brett has two brothers. One is a grad of one of the military academies and the other is on golf scholly at tn tech.
My father and theirs are first cousins. No question he has the physical tools. I thought he looked a little slow to mix it up in the 1st Alcoa game. Our family are native East Tn and UT through and through.

i dont this guy leaves UT. The only reason he will offer is Mr. Pittman.

I don't think he chooses Arkansas over UT either. All I am saying is don't give CBJ and staff a reason to cut you loose if your happy where you are. BK does not have the offer list and or star power to test the coaching staff IMO. I think it's risky to take a visit in his position. JMO
