'13 TN OL Brett Kendrick (UT Commit)

You get a kid from FL who comes here 9 time out of 10 they want exposure and a shot at the NFL.

You get a kid from Knoxville or EAST TN to come here and 9 times out of 10 they feel honored to put on the Orange and wear it with class and give their all because they dreamed of growing up one day and being a Vol.

If both option 1 and option 2 are of equal ability option 2 will stomp option 1 into the ground.

Which is usually not the case.

Hubbs said today on the radio that he really liked the pickup of Kendrick, he said that he has SEC size to be a very good OL. At times his want to isn't where it needs to be but when it is Kendrick can be a very very good OL. He thinks that can come w/ maturity.

Can anyone with an account summarize please and thank you

I didn't read the article but immure it goes like this: Kendrick, lifetime VOL fan, who has dreamt of playing for Tennessee since a little child is on the verge of suicide since starting to follow his recruiting thread on Volnation.com. Apparently him not being ranked by major recruiting sites have dismissed any rational thought by fans and he is feeling horrible about himself after reading volnation

Like Kendrick but he needs work. Redshirt year will do wonders for him. He needs to learn to finish plays, play every play (not take plays off), and he has some foot work issues. He'll be ok though. Love the kids that want to play at Tennessee

Hell, I "WANT" to play for Tennessee too, doesn't mean I'm any good.

You're right. My dad and I get on to him all the time about finishing plays. His coach once told him that he needed to give charlie at least 5 seconds to get rid of the ball and I think he took that to mean that he could quit after 5 seconds. He is taking everything more seriously this year.
He assumes that he will be redshirted next year as well. I think it will do him a lot of good as well.

All lineman should be redshirted. That's not a knock on your brother. Good luck this year.

Honestly, I think what happened is UT's staff projects him at guard and Thunder5 put enough pressure on rivals through his constant posts about rankings and player evaluations that Farrell and company finally gave it a look and changed it. Although it backfired a bit because they changed him from tackle to guard but dropped him from a 5.6 to a 5.5 hahaha.

Thunder loves to call out rivals analyst on VQ to get their act together and update rankings and whatnot. He's relentless and I love it.

A salute to you Thunder5 :good!:

Pittman told him that he and Austin were going to be the next two tackles. Of course that was before they signed Skipper. He knows they are going to put him where they need him the most, but no one has told him he will be a guard to this point.

Kendrick has been in contact w/ Dan Skipper, Austin Sanders, & Reeves Koehler. He calls & texts them all the time. He isn't able to be a EE b/c of his HS. He is at 295lbs right now but wants to be at 320lbs when he gets to campus. He will try to be at every home game this year. - per 247 article
