'13 SC DL Jaylen Miller (UT signee)

Damn I almost jumped the gun. I thought that said Jayln Holmes at first as a uT commit. I was 1 second away from punching my coworker out of joy.
But this latest info on J.Miller is just as exciting. We gotta have a couple Pass rushing monsters. Hopefully Vereen, Miller and if Malik gets time these guys can be the foundation for something greAt.

Miller, Vereen, and LaTroy Lewis may be the 3 best pass rushers we have on the roster...all Freshmen.

Doubt any of them are better than Maggitt as a pure pass rusher. He's probably in a league of his own from that standpoint as far as this current roster goes.

I think Carr will end up being the best overall DE out of those freshman. Maybe not as a pure pass rusher but as a complete DE.

Could use a big DE in the 4-3 that's not only a solid pass rusher but able to stop the run. I think this is a role Carr could excel in.

He'll probably be a hybrid DE/DT. He'll be a DE on running downs and them move inside on passing downs. That would allow Veeren and Maggit to become our DEs on passing downs with Couch and Carr at DT. Just something to think about.

Maggitt probably has the most potential, but he only has 2.5 sacks in his career. I partly blame coaching for that low of a number, but he hasn't been as good at rushing the passer to this point as what he probably should have been. Maggitt has been a good LB to this point, just nothing special as a pass rusher.

Going off of potential, Jaques Smith should be a helluva a pass rusher, too.

Smith just has never quite put it together here. He's also had in 4 years 4 different D-line coaches. I'm not sure any other SEC team can say that. Just think how crazy that is. On the plus side, Walls has been on the news saying he's learned more from Strippling then he did all year with Palermo. It's definitely a big step in the right direction. We have to hope that CBJ bringing in HIS staff that he's worked with for years has to help get the ball rolling more quickly. It seams everyone is on the right page on and off the field. That's a first in about 6-7 years here.

If you're right and Butch is putting in a Giants or Seahawks type 4-3, I believe Jacques Smith will finally flourish...under Wilcox the 4-3 was real vanilla straight up 4-3 and undersized defensive ends got exposed in the run game and were held back rushing the passer....in Sunseri's 3-4, they were left in the middle of the wilderness and told to make their way back to civilization. This scheme could be the one that sends him off in grand style...I hope so...he deserves it

This is encouraging news. If he can lose 30 lbs on this diet and training I feel so much better about Brown and maybe Mosley coming in, cutting some weight, and beasting out.
