I still don't understand how the wrestling weight loss/gain/loss/gain deal has not come under more scrutiny. There is no way it is healthy to shock your system like that over and over.

The cut I put up was more for a MMA fighter. Wrestlers don't cut as much weight since the have to wrestle the same day as they weigh in. 10 pounds isn't that bad. I can do that in about 8 hours easy. I've sweated 5 pounds out in a few hours without dieting doing anything. Not too bad to cut the weight wrestlers do.

I wouldn't call it the norm for wrestlers to cut weight dangerously but it definitely happens. I used to work out with our wrestling team in high school to stay in shape in the off season and I saw some guys do some really dangerous things a few times. It has gotten a lot better though since I was in HS with the hydration and body fat testing that most states have adopted from the NCAA.

Article up on 247. I don't have a sub, but from the sound of the headline, it looks like UT made his top 3. If anyone with a sub could summarize, it would be appreciated.

Sorry, no 247 subscription, but it would be really groovy if we could pull the Holy Trinity - all three of the big recruits from Trinity. I know we haven't offered White yet but seems like a real possibility.

It says that USCjr has offered & he is trying to get down there for a visit this Spring.

He named a top 3 of Tennessee, Michigan, & Louisville.

On Tennessee he said he has developed a good relationship w/ the coaches & that they are wanting him to play a hybrid-type position.

Experts-Do we have a really good shot here?

I like our chances against Louisville and Michigan.

It would be a major pull to get these guys. (The Trinity 3)

It's going to be harder than most think to get them from Louisville. Charlie Strong can flat out recruit.

Yeah, Strong is a monster recruiter. All three have interest in UT, so that's a good start, though!

Hatcher is visiting on March 3rd for UT's Junior Day. Hopefully he has a great time and UT can become leaders in his recruitment. I also would love for Hatcher to bring his teammates, WR James Quick and CB Ryan White, with him to Junior Day on March 3rd.

VQ moderator Brent Hubbs' take on Hatcher and the Big-3 at Trinity HS:

They are important for the Vols. Tennessee was by there the week before signing day. That school is going to be a popular stop. Alabama called on Signing Day.

We will get an update on Hatcher this week.

Jmoore, are you talking about the veterinary program? If so, then tell him to call me. I am an alumnus of the vet school. I hope our program aids us in landing this guy.

Vet program is impressive. Saw it with my ex when I was looking at schools. That was the weekend I fell in love with Tennessee and Knoxville in 2005.

Hatcher spent a good bit of time in the film room with the Vol defensive coaches including coordinator Sal Sunseri and he came away surprised by what he heard.

"I didn't think they would have watched my film that extensively," Hatcher said. "Coach Sal showed me some things to help me improve my game and he was showing areas I had improved last year from early in the year to the end of the season. They had watched a lot of tape of me."

"I will definitely be back for an official visit and I will be back before then," Hatcher said. "I want to come back and visit with the directors of the veterinarian program and I might come back for spring practice. It's a short drive down so I plan on getting back soon."
