PF over on VQ thinks this guy and Herron will be some DLinemen to watch going forwards. Montrell hinted at this above. He's not going to be able to be effective at DE in college. PF thinks he is going to be one of the hybrid guys we look at who will play OLB.

Yeah Hatcher is probably a long shot for Tennessee but he is not a good fit at all for a school that runs a 4-3.

Perfect fit for 3-4 OLB. He doesn't have a true position in a traditional 4-3.

I was thinking the same thing.

One of the mods on VQ said the other day that our coaching staff now perfers our LB's to be 250lbs & at least 230lbs

Then why are we going after Bynum?

If he's 220 he can get up to 230-235 easy. I'm glad we're going after big LBs. Keeps RBs from punishing our LBs at the point of contact. Remember when AJ was hitting RBs this year. They weren't going anywhere when he hit them. Now if we get 3-4 AJ size backers around the ball where the hell will your RBs being going besides backwards.

He is lucky to be 220

They say he's cutting weight for wrestling. I know for a fact(because I've done it) that you can cut 15-20 pounds in 24-48 hours. He can put that weight back on easily and healthy in around a week or two at the most.

Ok cool. Didn't know about the wrestling, that's a very demanding sport. I'm sure this kid works hard and is more than tough enough for the SEC

Great high school player who is very quick and athletic but he needs to be in a 3-4 in college to maximize his potential. A 3-4 OLB all the way.

He is way too short and not nearly long enough to be an effective DE in a 4-3 IMO.

How could you lose that much in 48 hours?..honest question.

Sauna, sweat suit, no drinks, food, and something that flushes your insides out?

Saunas, hot baths, sauna suits, pre-cut diet, distilled water for a couple days, then no water or food intake 24 hours out, then maybe a smooth laxatives if you're that far off from your cut. I don't like to cut over 15 pounds though(kinda hard on your body). I've seen a guy cut 38lbs in 48 hrs.(really stupid) it's hard on you especially if you've never done it before. Once you do it a couple of times it gets pretty easy. Just have to get used to having a dry mouth.

SN: you can put the 15-20 back on in 24 hours if the cut was done right. But if he's sitting down around his comp. weight then it will be a couple of weeks before he puts the good weight back on.

That's putting it mildly.

Getting easier to accomplish and being easy for your body to handle are two different things, especially at the high school level.

I still don't understand how the wrestling weight loss/gain/loss/gain deal has not come under more scrutiny. There is no way it is healthy to shock your system like that over and over.
