'13 KY DE Jason Hatcher (USCw Commit)

Then why did other coaches before Pete Carroll and Lane Kiffin fail then? Before Carroll USC was a doormate. Kiids like Kiffin and what he saling hell I wised we had him as a coach.

Kiffin inherited what Carroll built. No need to give him more credit than he deserves.

We'll see if Hatcher pans out; recruiting has always been a crap shoot. Some guys fulfill potential, others surprise you and inevitably some bust out hard. When it comes to Lane Kiffin, you have to give the devil his due--this guy is an ace recruiter and just might be the best in the business. And everyone forgets he's only 36-37..

What most people on this board have trouble accepting is 90% of these kids don't a give a **** about a program's tradition. As fans, we care and take pride in these accomplishments, but the overwhelming majority of the players couldn't care less. They pick a school based on the staff, playing time and getting prepped for the NFL.

It is what it is.

If that's the case UT has put more guys in the pros than USC in the last 20 years.

What people fail to realize is how tough the sanctions USC is under are. No one--and I mean no one--would've given USC a chance at being the #1 team entering the year after the bowl ban, having a Heisman frontrunner and the concesus #1 recruiting class. It was Kiffin or Mike Riley from Oregon State--no contest if you ask me. I concede I'm more interested in having a coach who is an ace recruiter as opposed to a great Xs and Os man who can't bring talent to his program. USC is going to be BCS bowl regardless this year--maybe the big one, maybe the Rose as the conf champ, or at worst, an at-large. It's dumb to say Kiffin owes all that to Carroll (a coach who by all accounts had checked out long before his resignation).

And that's why we have a very solid program at UT. Though, the last 20 years is irrelevant...these current kids only started paying attention in the last 7-10.

The sanctions haven't really kicked in yet and if you ask some USC fans they all say USC only signed about 20 players a year and is never around the 85 limit. The Heisman front runner is a life long USC fan from a well to do family that enjoys collage life and doesn't have to support a family like most kids. If Matt didn't come back this year USC wouldn't be in the talk for the NC. Kiffin is using Pete's player and some of his own so no he doesn't owe Pete everything. He does owe Matt and a bunch of coaches that turned USC down because everyone know that he wasn't in their top 5. He is a great recruiter nobody can say he isn't but he does take some chances on kids with problems and that might bite him in the next few years.

stars by your recruitment does not make the plays in the game on saturdays players do. load up sc and then when you win some with kiffies head cases then run your mouth not till then. got to play the game. Kiffin is a joke for a coach but can recruit. carrols boys have carried his butt so far except woods. One play away from a backup qb taking the reins as is TN. But hey USC always is suppose to win if you ask their fans

I'd say irrelevant is too strong. More a case of coaches & the kids themselves not doing their due diligence. Besides, even in the lean times(last 4 years) Tennessee has still put quite a few kids in NFL jerseys

good for hatcher and his mom. i hope she can afford the plane tickets out there.

so if USC loses to oregon state then what.

a guy I know who is a gator fan sent me this on twitter.. pretty harsh words. not sure where the info came from, and if it's already been posted mods can do away with it.

I couldn't care less about this kid. Did you see his interview the other day? I'm not even sure he speaks English.

Jason Hatcher interview at The Opening - YouTube

I think at the 1:38 mark he even calls TN "a coastal school, but not too far".

the sad thing is if he really thinks that makes or breaks a program, one bad game, then so be it. that irrationality and thought process is just so beyond what i can fathom. but hey im not an elite D1 prospect.

If he couldn't look at the UT/UK game from last year and tell what was up then he made the right decision to go out west. Good luck, young man.

what did he say that was incorrect?
:dunno:

that Loss was one of the worst losses in team history.

Unacceptable all the way around from the coaches to the last scholarship player to the equipment guys

its not an incorrect statement, its just a widely assumptive statement. it was a bad game. a terrible game. but so be it . we all have bad days. just think that if thats the deciding factor. so be it. don't think twice about your commitment.

Add to the fact that his assumption is naive and just plain stupid.

wow that was brutal by hatcher. why even put that up though.. why couldn't he just pick uscw and then move on.. no reason to say that stuff.
