We'll see if Hatcher pans out; recruiting has always been a crap shoot. Some guys fulfill potential, others surprise you and inevitably some bust out hard. When it comes to Lane Kiffin, you have to give the devil his due--this guy is an ace recruiter and just might be the best in the business. And everyone forgets he's only 36-37..
What most people on this board have trouble accepting is 90% of these kids don't a give a **** about a program's tradition. As fans, we care and take pride in these accomplishments, but the overwhelming majority of the players couldn't care less. They pick a school based on the staff, playing time and getting prepped for the NFL.
It is what it is.
Kiffin inherited what Carroll built. No need to give him more credit than he deserves.
If that's the case UT has put more guys in the pros than USC in the last 20 years.
What people fail to realize is how tough the sanctions USC is under are. No one--and I mean no one--would've given USC a chance at being the #1 team entering the year after the bowl ban, having a Heisman frontrunner and the concesus #1 recruiting class. It was Kiffin or Mike Riley from Oregon State--no contest if you ask me. I concede I'm more interested in having a coach who is an ace recruiter as opposed to a great Xs and Os man who can't bring talent to his program. USC is going to be BCS bowl regardless this year--maybe the big one, maybe the Rose as the conf champ, or at worst, an at-large. It's dumb to say Kiffin owes all that to Carroll (a coach who by all accounts had checked out long before his resignation.

And that's why we have a very solid program at UT. Though, the last 20 years is irrelevant...these current kids only started paying attention in the last 7-10.
a guy I know who is a gator fan sent me this on twitter.. pretty harsh words. not sure where the info came from, and if it's already been posted mods can do away with it.

I couldn't care less about this kid. Did you see his interview the other day? I'm not even sure he speaks English.
Jason Hatcher interview at The Opening - YouTube
I think at the 1:38 mark he even calls TN "a coastal school, but not too far".

what did he say that was incorrect?
:dunno:
that Loss was one of the worst losses in team history.
Unacceptable all the way around from the coaches to the last scholarship player to the equipment guys
its not an incorrect statement, its just a widely assumptive statement. it was a bad game. a terrible game. but so be it . we all have bad days. just think that if thats the deciding factor. so be it. don't think twice about your commitment.
