'13 JUCO DT Ben Bradley (Auburn commmit)

Butch doesn't want Ben. We are already full on defensive line. Dont really need any JUCO's there. That is my guess

We need to take a couple of high school kids. Thank about all the seniors that we will have on the defensive line next year...McCullers, Couch, Sentimore, Hood, Miller, J Smith...all of those are seniors off the top of my head. You want to get O'Brian a lot of playing time at DT. You got Jordan Williams at DE...I'm forgetting a couple of the others. It is a top heavy group...not sure we even wany to add another JUCO in there.


Do we really want to add a junior to that mix who will at most play half time?

We could use a couple of more JUCO cornerback's. Perhaps a linebacker or two.

Who do we have at DT in 2014 beside Obrien? I think we need DL badly.

FR: O’Brien*, Carr
*Redshirt year used

I don’t know about you, but if I was a JUCO DT looking for two good years to play, this sure ain’t the place to try. You have to believe the coaches are going to rotate the young pups in as much as possible.

there is a difference between having bodies and quality depth.

No one in their right mind can say we are "full" at DT

I would be fully excited about Obrien but it boggles my mind he didnt get any snaps this year.

Dont know if a RS was the plan of Dooley's staff but with such little production from our DL, Im just confused as to how he wasnt even given a chance.

It does seem weird, as DD was not fond of saving redshirts. Maybe he didn't learn the 3-4 very well?

Could be wrong but wasnt Phillips and Taylor redshirted also? The 3 young pups with Couch n Dan and Sentimore could be the reason Bradley cooled.

He committed to us with all those players on the roster, it's not like anything changed. I think the most likely reason is that we didn't retain Staley and he isn't familiar with any of our coaches anymore. seems like the simplest explanation.

I think this goes to show how much talent was in front of him, and how bad the defense played by means of poor coaching. This new coaching staff will have plenty to work with this first year.

Coaching had the least effect on the D-line IMO. They didn't produce.

The defense changed. The coaching staff changed. Lots of stuff changed.

He was behind McCullers, Hood, and Clark on the depth chart at nose. Carson got the redshirt, too.

And the Mayans couldn’t figure out some of the things the prior administration did as far as playing youngsters.
