'13 JUCO DT Ben Bradley (Auburn commmit)

talent in front of Obrien?

We got ZERO production from anyone on the defensive Line.

Jay, I know you can say both, but is it MORE coaching or personnel that was the problem with our DL? IMO it was coaching.

If he flips from Vols to Kentucky.. WOW. Must have REALLY not liked the coaching staff. I can't imagine a situation where he would simply like KY better. There has to be more to this story.

I think you're right there is more to the story that we don't know. If he is that good why is nobody else of note after him. Good d-linemen are always in high demand but it seems everyone has cooled on Bradley.

Yeah, this just doesnt sound right.

Alot of Team have backed off him according to Hubbs yesterday. He even said if he doean't go to Nebraska he isn't sure who he will end up with. For some reason alot of teams aren't knocking the door down for him.

I've read on VQ that he's scrambling to take online courses right now to try and complete his academic requirements. I'm just guessing that he will more than likely not be an EE. Just a gut feeling. Something doesn't make sense here...

If isn't going to be an EE maybe that's why schools are backing off. If he was able to get into an SEC school I don't know why he would go to UK versus UT.

I know it was a similar situation with CP, but these kids go to JUCO for a reason, right?

I heard he wasn't going to be an EE and that's why we backed off. Not sure how true that is, but makes sense to me. If you're going to take a JuCo, you want an EE IMO so he can go through the spring and hopefully be ready to contribute immediately. I've seen several of you post on here before that the main reason to take a JuCo is to have a player that contributes right away.

I think our DT spot is about as bad as you can get after this year. Same can be said for the DE spot. Our staff will have to land some top prospects or we are doomed. If you can't cover you have to bring pressure. We can't cover nor bring pressure and it causes a total collapse on our defense. Our coaches will have to find ways to blitz effectively if we want to stop the total melt downs on defense. Schemes matter more then personal. If you know your scheme then you can mold players to play in it. No one understood Sals scheme and therefore no one succeeded in it. The best example is Charlie Strong. He had a defensive plan and him and his DC ran it to perfection. Their team has a few four star players but mostly its made of guys whom had the attributes needed to be molded into the player the defense needed. When this happens and works, you know you have a great coach on your hands.
